So I can't play my way?
I suck at souls. I only beat 1 and 3 with a heavy armor turtle build and patience. Overleveling etc. I hit a point on this game where I feel stuck. I hit lvl 158, I have heavy armor, I have big mace, Everything clowns me. Everything. This feels wrong for a 150+ on playthrough 1. People keep telling me use Ice Axe meta, Use blood sword meta. Game is a joke, joke it back.

But this is not why or what makes me play souls titles. I feel like I cannot beat godskin duo, so the game is telling me, either meta up or stay where you are. So, in short, the way I played and won in previous titles is now retired and moot?

Just git gud and you'll probably make it

Use the effing tools of the game. Weapon arts, spells, summons, crafted items. Don't punish yourself - you are doing this to have fun, and the "how it's supposed to be played" is an illusion. The game doesn't give you options so you can avoid them all. The Godskin are weak to sleep effects, and that fight specifically allows you to summon a spirit plus an NPC if you want/need to.

I understand the bait must have been decent to latch so quick and provide such worth, It is important to inform that I typically ignore "get gud" and just appreciate the bump. Feel free to be constructive next time, if you arent just one liners and based memes. I miss conversations, but I ask too much.

I don't follow guides and try to roll with the punches on play 1, as I dont know what awaits. I explore choices but self healing is my favorite machanic, so on hit or heal on kill. Outside that though, I wouldnt know where to begin? Most people are telling me to use 2 weapons out of the near 400, and 2 arts. So from the sounds of it, all of the weapons and arts are pretty useless outside pvp? Unless some fudge that I was shown where you can slash a weak sword and make the final boss bug out.

But thats just exploits, and peoples meta aint me.

Why don't you just try out everything? :) Have you tried summoning spirits to help you? They have a whole big upgrade system and are a major feature of the game. Have you tried crafting? Have you tried different weapon arts? Or status effects? Spells?

Just a sword boy right now. Never tried spells or dabbled in much else. This is what makes me a stuborn mule. If it worked on the first few games, It should work here, was my general line of thinking. I try spirits but I dont have good ones I guess? Because no hand holding guide I still dont have the mimic tear summon, which I was told can really make fights trivial, but I use a jellyfish or some wolves. Best summon I have needs a flash hit so I can even afford it, and it aint that great, just a quick knife lady? She gets slapped fast, but I usually die first.

So I do what I do when I feel in a corner, overlevel. But I cannot level much more, as stats are really reduced in growth this deep with the 60's in some stats. Just blows my mind I have 4 digit health and some mobs can slap it to 0 unblocked, or stamina is a joke resource in later fights, as I can block or roll, but never follow-up as the next attack is coming. ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ joke of a combat scale.

There are normal spirits and named ones, like "Lhutel the Headless Knight". And they can be upgraded, which will allow them to be on a level with your character and not die so quickly. Maybe look into that?

And please, don't make the same mistake some folks do, to try to play Dark Souls 1 or something in Elden Ring. A lot of the game is about flashy weapon arts and fighting with spirits, and the enemies do the same thing to you. And if you explore thoroughly, you will find a ton of different weapons and spirits. Even crafting is viable. For example for the Godskin you could make some sleep-effect pots.

If you haven't found the mimic (which you can tune how powerful it is - it copies you), have you explored the underworld after defeating Radahn at all? Great part of the game you shouldn't miss, any maybe a welcome breather :)

Trust me, people for spite will inform me how bad and wrong I am, for just about everything. I take it I can whip those up via learning some recipe? Most likely a vendor sale? I don't know how to explain my route atm. Just hit the Frozen North area with the Fire Giant. But a chunk of my map is still blacked out?

It is a nightmare going in blind.

you dont need sleep pots to beat them you just need to be able to do a lot of dps as fast as possible before the fat one rolls
sleep pots come from a recipe you pick up in a cemetery in limegrave i believe, check a map cuz its easily missed. unless you want to completely go in blind then you should know that godskin duo is an optional fight and get ready to ragequit in the fight after that. i suggest if you dont use all the tricks in the game by now you should avoid this area and continue up the frozen north.

There is a lot more to that. You remember a star falling from the sky when Radahn was defeated? Did you find where it struck the ground?

Throw sleeping pots at one of them and it's 1v1.
