Boss fights restarting places (ex: Rennala)
I find it very boring to restart in a very far place after a kill on a boss fight. For example, the Rennala fight is so absurd: we respawn in the Debate Parlor and have to go back to the wrecking ball lane, then all the way to the elevator (which has not reset, btw, so we have to call and wait for it), then all the way to Rennala's place again. Fortunately someone was good enough to stop the ball, but my question is why? A Marika statue conveniently placed at the entry to Rennala's place would be so hard to do? Why all this stupid and useless run about?

There is a shortcut to avoid the entire wreckingball thing though, isn't there?
A shortcut that leads right to the elevator before the bossfight.
and the black blade
you have to run over a long stair which has absolutely nothing on it
what's the point

This is the most generous Souls game when we talk about walks of shame (you died).

Except Rennala (yes there is a shortcut opening a few doors but still there is a legion of burger kings between you and her) all the bosses and their grandma have a statue of Marika or a site of grace pretty close.

My guess on why there is no statue of Marika outside rannela door is lore reasons. Which is pretty cool. But they could add a sight of grace outside of it or at least in front of the elevator

It bothers me a lot because it means disrespect for the player: you spend a lot of time with a useless errand for the sake of nothing except to punish the player for not having succeeded in a hard fight. As an added punishment, the elevator is not even reset, which forces the player to remember to stop and pull and wait, otherwise he will drop into the shaft...

Okay, it is one thing to die to Rennala already but to fall down the elevator shaft? That's too much man.
It's not a long way at all, just send the elevator back down once you are up and pay attention.

ER is, by far, the most user-friendly game in that regard.
I take it you never played any of the souls games?

I have played other Souls-like and this same mechanic exhausted me after a while. "Mortal Shell" was dreadful...
ER is the one that I've played more and I intend to continue, but I wish they could do more to respect the players' time and avoid useless running around and go back and forth.

I agree, it feels disrespectful of the player's time and has been an issue in all previous Souls/Borne games as well.

I find the idea that the game has to respect the player's time to be ludicrous. If you have to stop playing, you can do that at any point, and then continue from that exact point later. This has nothing to do with having to repeat a section because you died. And ER is very very friendly in this regard and deviates from the normal Souls formula on purpose. Except at very few points in the game.

you're example is a little poor since you're talking about stakes of MARIKA. You know, the broad that stole Rennala's husband. Welcome to From's lore integrated mechanics.

As others said take the shortcut. As for the elevator this is a rule you should learn in nearly all FROM games. Reset the elevator after using it, every single time, as you get off the elevator. This also applies to Code Vein.

You know, I really don't mind the wrecking ball route when you know how to dodge it.

Godskin Duo, fighting through 3 Banished Knights every time you get flinch-flinch-flinch-killed by the fat roll? Nuh, that can just be deleted, thanks.

But if you really want a walk of shame, try Final Fantasy 3's final boss - you get to run the largest dungeon in the game, plus non-skippable cutscenes, plus the mini-boss, before getting to final boss again, every single time.

About the Godskin Duo: you didn't find the right site of grace, there is one next to the fog without any enemies on the way : Dragon Temple Transept.

ALWAYS send elevators back down (or up) from where you started
The run takes less than 1 minute
There is a "shortcut" but I'm sure it takes longer
Don't die to an easy boss
