What is with all the Drama over the Seamless Co-Op mod?

i'm out of the loop, i thought it was a mod that was made because of hackers that could mess with other players saves. But i see a lot of flame over it? what happened?

nobody else figured the seamless co-op mod was due to people "hacking and corrupting saves."

the other active threads where long post about how this will kill the game not explanation on what is the issue with it, im a complete outsider since i dont own the game yet. The idea that a mod will kill a community is very foreign to me since every game with modding i know endorse mods, even Payday 2 who has a mod that auto kick players with less than 100 hours.
this post clearly bothers you, you could have 1: simply ignored it or 2: just answered the question.

You've been given the gist of it, the drama just escalated by endless toxic flaming and provokations on both sides of the argument, had you seen some of the awful takes you'd get why.

From my understanding, most PVP players literally do not care. It's just PVE players who hate invaders making posts like "ARE YOU MAD??? ARE YOU FURIOUS!!??!". Like no?? Most PVPers just duel anyway. The only thing that can kill PVP is FromSoft releasing more awful patches like this one.

It kills entire aspect of invasion, it wasn't good to begin with in Elden Ring, but now it's nearly dead. I hated being invaded and i was scared as fk to leave game running during dark souls days, always had to teleport to non-invasion area to use toilet. Yet I strongly believe PVP is part of Dark Souls and Elden Ring difficulty level and should be kept as part of it.

This is what the developers are using to explain the Mass EXUDUS from Elden Ring, 'oh, they're still playing, just using the coop mod.' Really everyone plain quit due to 'CONNECTION ERROR' They all SICK to death of seeing that message.

With how these threads continue to spawn and stay relevant (when I tried asking a question and got nothing for two hours); I feel like a completely blank sand-box title with Bethesda style "piece together" map creation could be handed to them, and we would see new threads for at least a week on:

"The devs are genius - this is how games should be made"
vs
"Who just hands people an empty Unity cookie-cutter space with god mode/tools to build your own From style game?"
