So yes, but actually, no.
The game just isn't optimized well. I have a 2080 Super, well above the recommended specs and should be able to play at 1440p.
Unfortunately, not everyone has the same experience, it still seems to happen for some users. So hard to say for sure.
That is strange and interesting. This is reproducible every time?
it's super weird yeah, I've had something similar happen on my laptop where after playing and colsing the game my pc would stop recognizing the GPU, like there wasn't one at all. Any game i tried to play afterwards would just flat out tell me my pc did't have a graphics card. I fixed it by uninstalling. It happened again tho after the last patch and i did the same thing. very weird.
Most users let software install their video drivers for them, and make "optimizations" to the game which are, unbeknownst to them, driver-level changes which then cause conflicts with the in-game settings, thus causing such awful performance.
Like you, I play at 1440p, but on a 1080 Ti and an 8086K at stock voltages. I experience no issues worth complaining about.
For someone with any RTX-level card to be having issues means something like what I described above is happening. Either that, or they're just bad at PC management and have dozens of pieces of bloatware running in the background that they refuse to acknowledge, admit, or get rid of despite it all being completely pointless. ("Game optimizers", Windows own "Game Mode", "GeForce Experience", etc.)
that seems to be gone now same for the "loading areas" where the game sometimes stopped for ~5 seconds but that rarely happened and mostly while traveling on horse to new areas
even then those are minor issues
generally speaking just a nuisance
compared to AAA games nowadays this ran superb
