Thoughts on Seamless Coop
I haven't used it. I probably won't use it.

However, of the 100's of multiplayer sessions experienced in my hundreds of hours, I would say >50% have ended in server disconnect returning to your world. It's an undeniable issue. At this point -- I can't blame them. In addition to the exasperated boss-dominator that can't stay connected long enough to no-hit your biggest obstacle thus far, you have the pusillanimous players that wish to avoid invasions entirely (you're not treating yourself you're cheating yourself), and I'm sure there are players with other reasons to use the mod..

Much like the weird hacks/malware that were prevalent on PC versions of other FromSoft games that were only addressed after the release of Elden Ring... that's some bs... the connectivity issues seem to only plague the PC playerbase.

The only gripe I have with FromSoft is that PC players always get a bit of the shaft. Otherwise Miyazaki and Kojima stand above all others in their industry for me.

I like it,it has improved alot since launch and continues to improve. It still has ALOT of issues, but the experience you get is still better than the vanilla multiplayer

Sometimes I'll play all night without an issue. Other days I'll restart my modem after a few disconnects yet the disconnects continue. I can't make sense of it. Totally open to the idea that it's something on my end. Pardon my ignorance, but what is EAC?

I'm convinced it's EAC because the mod, without it works fine. It's p2p btw, From's servers have nothing to do with it other than matchmaking, showing summon signs, messages, bloodstains and ghosts. It's basically the same system as in previous games which lends more weight to the idea that EAC is causing it.

They should have used VAC considering the game is on Steam

Lots of people don't want to use the mod because they like the asynchronous multiplayer features, like playing with and helping strangers at opportune times, blue phantoming and invasions. And yes despite the narrative of the loud people here there is a big portion of the playerbase that likes those things. But I can also get the attraction to full coop mod as well. I'm not really into it either but that's their choice.

It's actually been confirmed by the mod author on Discord that EAC is the culprit for most of the vanilla game's disconnection issues. So you're spot on with that one.

after finally using it: honestly, i complete understand why people do for a variety of reasons.

it uses the offline wrapper to ensure no EAC, which in and of itself allows the game to run better, along with a lot of other mods to improve performance to exist (haven't used those, but i did see them)

and then to top it off, the seamless co-op works well, there is issues no doubt but not having to do the song and dance to play with a friend goes a long way, even when things weren't working right i was having fun cause i was chatting with a friend and we were both making progress without having to fight every boss twice.

Oh really. That is interesting thanks for that!

No problem! Definitely takes out 'some' of the lag from the game as well without it running. The mod does have it's share of issues, but honestly? A much better experience overall compared to how multiplayer is now in the game.

What I like about the mod:
1. Play in widescreen mode with no stutter.

2. Can play with cosmetic mods.

3. It's not an easy mode like what some believe.

What I don't like:
1. Can't play with random players - friends only and everyone must vote to warp to another grace or into Evergoal.

2. Some bugs need to be fixed.

I installed a hard mode mod and my duo and I have created custom weapons/spells, having the time of my life. Wouldn't be possible without the seamless mod, thanks Luke!

Honestly wouldn't say you're cheating yourself out of anything considering how poorly invasions have been implemented with this game. Outside of being a unique gameplay mechanic, there is nothing to gain from participating in invasions, which means it becomes more of a nuisance than a cool gameplay event for the host.

And considering how many people dislike invasions at this point, combined with FS not making them appealing to new players, I'm not mad at anyone for wanting this mod PURELY to opt out of invasions entirely.

All of this coming from someone who likes invasions.

Not only does it get rid of connection issues outright, it gets rid of most performance issues. EAC was a mistake, it's nothing but trash.

I haven't used it so I dunno. I'm probably going to do a friendly-fire run with friends at some point.

downloaded the mod and haven't looked back. mod fixes most issues.

So as we guessed it is the EAC causing issues. lets hope they dont implement it on ds 1 2 3 and dsr. I know luke and team fixed it on blue sentinel for the exploit maybe from should have got them to make a mod like that for Er instead of EAC and more of us would enjoy a cleaner play than what we are having

I know I'm a year and change late to this but, nah. I'm treating myself. I'm really tired of trying to play with friends and having one of three scenarios happen.

1: ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ shows up with dragon's breath in narrow corridors with no way to go around to attack them and kills everyone every time you try to go past specific areas with friends.
2: Way over leveled ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ with way better gear shows up in newbie areas when you and a friend try to start new characters.
3: Meme character that tries to kill you.

Admittedly, three is not bad. Everyone else? ♥♥♥♥ 'em. Forced invasions are ♥♥♥♥ and should not be a part of these series.

I have not played this game in months but if people want to play without invasions it is a good thing if you want to pvp go play DS3 and Do a Pontiff arena fight. Pvp always has been over rated and 100% lag based. Get good or play something else:steamsalty::burnstatus:
