Can you get a banished knight helm without the hood or the white hairs?

I want to get a banished knight helm to go with Blaidd's armor, but I don't want it to have the red hood or the white fur/hairs on the back. Every guide I see online shows the helmet with one or the other of these features. Is it possible I can alter one of the variants so that it is just the basic helmet and nothing else?

Yes. You have to kill specific banished knights to get it.

But the one you linked to still has the white hairs and it says it cannot be altered

You can, but you need to equip a specific chestpiece that hides that white hair.

Those aren't hairs, that's the helmet.

Well I just checked, and indeed it has white hairs. My mistake, you can't get one without them.
