I prefer not to watch any game trailers because they all seem to have a habit of spoiling the plot excessively. I remember after playing The Last of Us 2 hearing people complaining about the trailer having a character model switch and (1) that lack of expectation on my end gave me a better experience with the game and (2) if more games did that then I think I’d be more inclined to watch trailers. At the very most I might look at a pure gameplay trailer if I absolutely know there’s no additional content.
Funny that you mentioned Cyberpunk 2077, because if you watched any of the hype videos I really don’t think you would have the information required to understand what you were getting with the final product. Ultimately buying any game on release is a gamble, and many developers aren’t interested in putting out realistic no-spoiler content. The risk equation is potentially ruining the narrative experience in exchange for mostly useless or deceptive content. I’m pretty sure there wasn’t any content from third parties that painted a realistic picture before release either.
Example, anyone with a post like "Hey, just started and was wondering what weapons I should check out" is not a blind play-through, as you are likely going to get a swathe of meta stuff and some unique other suggestions if lucky; this then spoils the experience of trying a crappy weapon that looks cool as someone may have also advised against some things.
At the end of the day though - blind playthroughs are increasingly difficult as time goes on anyway as more outlets are peddling streams or detail. Like catching 5 minutes of someone streaming a game to me sorta starts to ruin the "blind playthrough" as any commentary about the game/mechanics will resonate with you somehow (good and you consider it advice, or bad and you find a way to use something or whatever).
Edit : Though I think OP may be more on about folks who watch YT streams and then want to copy the build and stuff, or even just pick a title up because their favorite streamer played it (saw plenty of that on another game I bought recently in the reviews... "___ sent me here")
