Ranni was a target as well as seen with the Baleful Shadow.
Its obvious that Ranni was really close to both of them, why would she kill them? she straight up admits loving both to us.
Theres nothing that confirms her being their leader, and its massively contradicted by her relationship with Iji and Blaidd, specially Blaidd.
Unthinkable, how could Blaidd… How did he break free from his cell? No, more importantly… Blaidd became a curse that plagued Lady Ranni, yet in madness, gave himself to her. I’ve made a grave misjudgement. And I thought myself a capable war counselor… I’ll catch up with you soon enough, Blaidd. When I do, I only hope you’ll accept my apology.
Edit: ♥♥♥♥ I meant this as an edit to the previous post
Ranni the witch turns out to be Ranni the ♥♥♥♥♥.
If anything a really probable reason is that the Black Knifes are contract assassins, since theres no leader to speak off besides one of their own with Alecto.
So they have no loyalty and will kill whoever for their contractor.
Others say they were aligned with Ranni, and she either used them to dispose of her underlings now that she was done with them, or she'd stationed them with Seluvis and Iji to protect them against Blaidd's inevitable betrayal.
There's a lot of information missing on the allegiance of the Black Knife Assassins, or even if the ones found are even legit and not copycats.
That is why you still see BKA anywhere that is not related to Ranni's quest line (don't know why BKA would serve Ranni anyhow by protecting the Haligtree portal in Ordina by example)
Personally, I like to go where the clues lead me. We already know there's a relationship between Ranni and the BKAs. To my knowledge there's no other link to anyone else. Having said that, everyone is free to believe what they wish.
It probably is nonsense, but there's so many holes in the lore that anything can be made mildly plausible. Often times the lore provided even contradicts itself from different sources.
I doubt Ranni has any ties with them past the Nigh of the Black Knifes, since they clearly went after her and ended up facing Iji and Blaidd.
