So I was at Moutaintop of giants and ***** the erdtree.... [SOILERS]

I reached the erdtree at Lyndell. There was a wall of thorns and I was told to burn the tree down. Went to Mountaintop of Gigants and did it (sorry Melina).
Now the roundtable hold burns too and Gideon says
"The Roundtable Hold served to put a Tarnished upon the throne of Elden Lord."

Hmmm... and what now?
What to do next? And why?

So - wait though, did you get transferred to the other place yet?
Basically - Fire Giant goes right into the cut-scene, then right into a new area when you "Awaken" from the event.

That would be the story place to do next, or if you have a half of the haligtree medallion you can go back to Consecrated Snowfield and seek the northern town with an evergoal in it. If this item doesn't sound familiar, you may be able to explore more in Liurnia(spelling is probably off) for some stuff.

Basically (with light spoilers);
- Crumbling Farum Azula is the next and second to last story area you are required to beat
- Additionally, the medallion halves lead to the Haligtree optional area (large and tough area)

Azula's purpose has to do with another Great Rune. Getting your hands on it is necessary to progress what you set in motion when you burned the Erdtree.

I'm exactly where you are. As far as I can tell, the options are kinda obvious:

1. Explore Farum Azula
-why? To figure out maybe why the hell you even got transported there. To figure out what that floating ruin in the sky is. Find some loot.

2. Continue with main quest
-why? Because the point of the game since the prologue is to become Elden Lord. You tried to become Elden Lord after killing Morgott but you couldn't get in. So Melina suggested to burn it down. You made your way to the giants' mountaintop to find flame that could burn the Erdtree. Now the Erdtree is burned. So maybe walk through the door.

I have no idea if Farum Azula is mandatory. i have no idea if you can enter Erdtree now. But I don't want to risk trying to enter the Erdtree before exploring Farum Azula.

Exploring Farum Azula IS continuing the main quest. It's manditory.

To my last point - that is Marika talking back; now you need to go get your whooping stick in Farum Azula and Shinning your way in.
