did you kill him or did he die of his own? if you angered ranni you can continue the quest after going for absolution at the church of vows

Whether Seluvis dies doesn't affect Ranni quest. When he dies affects some other quests but doesn't end them. If he dies before you finish his quest you may not get some goodies from him depending on exactly how far along you were in his quest when he died. Ranni leaves the tower after a you get to a certain point in her quest and does not return.
