These 'I can't see your summon sign' threads are very entertaining. I don't think you can summon with this one. It's not a boss and it's also easy to cheese by triggering it then run and jump down onto the branch that's beside and below the one you came in on. Run up it to a save distance and kill the thing with a ranged weapon.
