Seamless Co-Op Mod (Experimental Version 2.0)
Download Seamless Co-Op Mod from:
Nexusmods[www.nexusmods.com]

File size: 1.5MB
Unique account downloads in 1 year 901K
Seamless Co-Op Discord LFG channel.[discord.com]
This is currently an experimental build so expect a few bugs.
(ver. 2.0)
What's new in ver. 2.0: (Updated on 5/23 @ 4PM ET) - Increased the player count to support 127 players (note this has only been tested up to 15) - Added PvP, PvE, and boss rush modes. You can access these with the shrines at rountable hold and the Limgrave and Caelid areanas - Fixed some inconsistencies with packet order - Modified the way clients initially connect with each other - Removed the Varré quest line skip - Added visual effects to rot - Changed some mod icons If you'd like to use this experimental version, then you must replace **ALL** mod files *including the launcher*. A clean install of seamless co-op is strongly recommended.
Not compatible with mods; The seamless co-op launcher is required for functionality. Wait for stable release if you require usage of other mods.

Info about the mod:
- Mod which removes all multiplayer boundaries and allows for connections to persist after death.

- Play with friends from the tutorial to the very end of the game, with synchronized progress, and no re-summoning or interruptions.

- Enemy scaling is fixed (it didn't work at all previously). It now mimics Elden Ring's (25%/50%/75%) buff on enemies for 1, 2, and 3 co-operators respectively.

- Voting enables synchronized fast travelling in the game. All players in the session must agree to warp to a specific destination. Once the vote passes, all players are warped at the same time.

- Map waypoints are now synced with other players in the session, making it easier to communicate where you'd like to explore or areas of interest.

- Evergaols, portals, etc. now all work correctly and affect other players in the session allowing you to tackle usually restricted areas in multiplayer.

- When dying in a boss fight, you will be unable to re-spawn and enter a spectator mode until either the boss is dead or every other player dies. This lets bosses keep their challenge while allowing you to stay together in a multiplayer session.

- A stack-able debuff mechanic called Rot Essence has been added. It is acquired on death and can be removed when resting at a bonfire. There are currently 3 varied effects that can stack both with others and themselves.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ's):

Q) Can the mod get me banned?
A) No, the mod doesn't connect to the matchmaking servers and does not use FromSoftware's online services and therefore you can't get banned for using it.

Q) What is the player cap?
A) The maximum player count in a party is 127 (1 host + 126 guest players). Only tested up to 15 player simultaneously in ver 2.0.

Q) Are there invasions?
A) No, there are no invasions.

Q) How do items work?
A) Items are unique to every player. If boss drops a talisman pouch for example, everyone will get it. The same applies to items found in the world and enemy drops.

Q) How do sites of grace/bonfires work?
A) If one player sits at a site of grace anywhere in the world an enemy/world reset will occur for every player. If a player is fighting a non-open world boss at this time, they will be placed back outside the fog wall and the fight will be reset.

Q) Is progress shared?
A) Yes progress is shared. But it only applies to actions you do whilst in a player's world - for example if you start a fresh character and join a player to kill an end-game boss, only that boss will be dead in your world and you won't inherit all of the other player's progress they had before you joined.

Q) How does it work with the anti-cheat?
A) It doesn't, the mod uses a separate launcher which runs the game without launching Easy Anti-Cheat.

Q) Can I use other mods?
A) Yes, however for regulation / param file edits everyone in the party must have them active in order for them to be visible. (e.g. if just 1 player uses a randomizer, it will only work for that player). Also, not in experimental build 2.0

Q) Does this worked for cracked/pirated games?
A) No.

Q) Isn't this just easy mode?
A) Not necessarily, while co-op play does make the game objectively easier, it's also a completely different way to play the game. There are plenty of "easy mode" mods out that that just give you high health/damage. This mod will be easier but is made in mind of those who want to play the game the whole way through with friends. It has been designed with fun in mind as opposed to reducing the challenge.

Q) Can I modify or redistribute this mod?
A) No.

Q) Can I use my save game from the base game?
A) Yes[/b]

All other info can be found on the Mod Description Page[www.nexusmods.com]

Installation:
Compatibility with other mods has not been tested. You may use other mods, so long as they do not interfere with the multiplayer aspect of the game, or edit any of the items the mod uses to function.

• Download the mod from the 'Download'[www.nexusmods.com] tab.
• Extract the package you downloaded, and move the following files to your Elden Ring folder (usually in "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\ELDENRING\Game").
• Edit "cooppassword.ini" to your chosen co-op password.
• Launch the mod using "launch_elden_ring_seamless_coop.exe".

A new save game is recommended (but not necessary)
As a precaution, please backup your original game saves located at %AppData%\Eldenring.

Usage:
Цитата допису Fang:
Set the coop password in SeamlessCoop\cooppassword.ini
The host must use the Tiny Great Pot to create a session.
At that point, the other players can join using the Effigy of Melina.
You should spawn in at a point nearby the host. Any player can leave at any time using the Separating Mist
- If the host uses this item, the session will be disbanded and all players will disconnect.

the entire point is that its meant to be co-op with friends without having to deal with the run around if disconnecting every 2 minutes due to boss defeats, deaths, or location changes.

But that's the thing, the only missing part in Elden Ring is that functionallity to play it online constantly (100% online), without having to be disconnected there and there.

Now this mod enable this missing feature, but also add a limitation, aka, you need to play with restricted/private group. It would have been great to be able to play with random exactly like in vanilla, put to also have a "private" room to play with close friend.

Like that, we have a mod that is superior in every shape and form to the original coop system in the game, and this without drawback.

There's an active
Discord LFG channel[discord.com] with lots of random people. Almost 11,000 people online as I write this. Check it out.

Yeah, but that's also what I prefer to avoid, this is also the same complain that I have with microsoft studios games (Halo, Grounded etc...) they does not provie matchmaking for coop and instead ask you to go to Discord or LFG to find x and y etc...

So you end up playing tinder simulator asking everywhere if people want to play with you or if you can join, then you need to wait to get an answer(can take hours if they are busy), then to have a mic (because if not, you are in lower priority) and then to play regularly with them, if not they will boot you / replace you with someone that will have closer timezone to them etc....

It also force you to play with the same amount of people unless you are ready to restart the procedure everyday and wait for hours to find a correct group, something that can be fixed by a simple matchmaking (like in the game) or a server list aka, a 1s wait time.

Also, I know that I sound maybe very critical, but I just try to share my opinion on how the only thing that prevent this mod to totally replace the coop portion of the vanilla game is the lack of random matchmaking.

Is this MM (or server list) was implemented on this mod, there would be no interest anymore to play that inferior vanilla coop experience in ER.

that's not a limitation, nothing is stopping you from connecting to random people aside from the fact that you don't have their password, the same as any other passworded group.

you can 100% just set a password and try to join, but it wasn't designed for that, cause its a co-op mod, it was designed to be played with an organized group.

calling the core selling point of the mod a limit is very funny though i admit
I believe those were the old days of gaming lol. Discord has an app, so if your phone works, you already have a mic. This particular group seems active enough, just less so today due to people updating to 1.06 which doesn't work with the mod.

It's purposely made this way though and apart from changing the number of people that can connect simultaneously from 4-200+, I don't think he's gonna do anything (if he can do anything) about matchmaking. That'll probably involve money and servers.

The only choices are the mod and vanilla, so it's up to you to weight the pros and cons of both and utilize whichever accordingly.

How to download ER 1.05 from steam to keep playing the mod until update: Followed this guide writen for another game : https://steamcommunity.com/app/518790/discussions/9/3276939184061716979/ Open the console in Steam : - Go to any browser and write steam://open/console a llitle advice appears asking to open using steam, after that, the console is opened. - In the console write: download_depot 1245620 1245621 669913989806054276 This download can be very long depending on your internet speed. Wait for it to end, it will tell you when it's done. Again it can be VERY long. Then : download_depot 1245620 1245624 4098090331125924085 1245624 is only the .exe of the game, about 20mb. Both folders will be in YourSteamFolder\steamapps\content\app_1245620 After that, copy the .exe from the 1245624 folder and paste it in 1245621 Re-download and install the mod in the 1245621 folder and it should work as it has worked for myself and others.

It is a limitation, because we could have both system working, aka, "private room" for players that want to play with close friends and "open room" for players that are ok to be matched with random. As of right now, there is no system to allow to randomly join someone with matchmaking in the mod, and the use of password is again a minigame of looking outside of the game to find x or y.

Цитата допису zero:

It's still a limitation, the core selling point of the mod is to play seamlessly, not to "just" play with your close friend (something you can already do in the vanilla game).

If you say this about MM, then yeah, back then you could do everything simply by MM or server list, no need to install anything or get out of your way to find other players, it was just 1 click = join = play.

As for the other part, I don't have a smartphone (no need) and even if it was the case, I play at hours where using a mic is not possible (it's 3AM right now), hence the issue to go around finding people that would be ok to play without mic (basically like in vanilla).

I see, that's unfortunate, I will stick with the vanilla since I play from time to time and at different hours/day, so not very suited for a "private coop". I hope that one day though, FROM will do a proper online experience for their games.

Цитата допису literally from the mod's main page:
Simply put, the mod allows you to play with friends throughout the entirety of the game with no restrictions. With this, it's theoretically possible to play the game from the tutorial up to the final boss completely in one co-op session.
yes? is literally is?

dunno what to tell you, this mod wasn't meant to play with strangers, its a seamless co-op mod, you generally don't do full playthrough of games with strangers, you either do it with friends or by yourself.

it's not a limitation if it doesn't stop you from doing what you want, its just not designed to help you with it, its steam connections peer to peer.

if you put in a community password you'd connect with strangers, so its obviously a thing you can do, if people wanted that.
Having a mic isn't a must. It's convenient but I don't think anyone actually requires one in a Souls game. It's not like a WoW raid where everyone needs to be in constant communication. I myself prefer not to speak because either people can't understand my accent or I hate the sound of my voice.

Also, people can "matchmake" using the mod by leaving the default password (which I think is 1234) and heading to the regular summoning areas.

Other communities, streamers etc have a community password, for instance, Vaatividya on vanilla has his community password set to SEEKERS so he and other users can presumably summon each other. Others have done this but for the mod.

I don't see where it's a problem ? there is countless of games where you can play coop with random, "Seamless Co-op" mean that it's "Seamless" as opposed of the multiple connection/disconnect that the vanilla force on you, that's it.

It's still a limitation, you don't get the same vanilla experience + seamless, you get seamless - matchmaking. The fact that there is no MM while the vanilla game have it, mean it is a limitation.

Managing password still require that you search for those passwords everywhere.

Yeah it make sense. I know that in other games like Grounded etc.... it's an instant "nope" if you ask to join without mics, so I though we would get the same treatment here.

I see, so I guess I should try this with a bunch of password.

Ultimatly, it would be simpler to have 2 options in the multiplayer tab:

- Open (the mod set a default password and you will be matched with everyone with the "Open" setting)

- Private (you get exactlty what you have now, so set password etc....)

The advantage would be then to be more explicite for people that just want to play with random at any given time, (instead of trying to remember what was the default password).

But yeah, I will try it later to see if with the default password I get some players.

Would it be possible to make it work with random people (matchmaking) ?

Aka, a way to play like in the normal game but with seamless co-op, without having to have a close dedicated friend as disposal ?

Because everything in that mod interest me, but the fact you are forced to play with the same people over and over and over again is quite annoying, the good advantage of random co-op is that you never know what you will get.

Of course, I understand that there is some limitations to that, but a solution would be to maybe duplicate the host progress ? and thus, when we connect, we get the same progress + our bag of stuff.
the entire point is that its meant to be co-op with friends without having to deal with the run around if disconnecting every 2 minutes due to boss defeats, deaths, or location changes.

that said, i dont see why you cant just set up a community password and hope people connect to you, though i feel like your still gonna end up playing the same people anyway

that and the major desync that comes along with it as its meant to progress both games at once
IMO the main argument against a "community password" would be the lack of anticheat.

I mean the only reason fromsoft implemented anticheat into elden ring is because they were too lazy to fix the remote execution issue, so if you disable anticheat you're potentially opening yourself up to it if any random can connect to your game.

oh the point wasn't that you "should" the point was that the person in question could still achieve his goal, hes not limited, but use at your own risk is modding 101.

its a mod to play with people you know, its always gonna be a risk to play with randoms.

The anticheat this game uses is extremely lacking and is already fully cracked and exploitable so clearly that's not stopping any engine/game exploits which I'm sure the most critical ones including the RCE exploit are already patched.

No the rce was fixed in the game itself confirmed by the people who found it in the first place.
EAC was to stop cheat engine users etc.
Oh I didn't know that. Good to know!

Now they gotta backport that sh*t to ds1-3 :D
This mod is currently in beta so expect a few bugs.
