Question about a PVP tactic I was just victim to.

So do you think its all fair game? I was doing the Sewer Gaol and me and the cooperator were invaded. BOOM, he was hiding behind a door or something and ganked me right when I stepped through, I guess he sliced right through the door in a no-clip or whatever.

I didn't lose many runes really, and I wasn't that far a long. Just wondering if the pvp players here prefer doing a face to face or is it like anything goes?

I've had people invade me and wait until I was finished with a boss or enemy before attacking.

Its just anything goes, if you have invaders not ambushing you while busy with an annoying enemy, thats on them.

Most invaders are going to be completely ruthless since we’re fighting 3 v 1 regulary. There are no rules in invasions so feel to do the same. Ambushes are great fun.

Had a funny one a while back where there was a group that funneled you up a ladder and the second you get up the dude hiding under mimic veil popped out with Hoarah Loux Earthshaker and while you’re stunned two dudes hiding in a room next over popped out and ganked me. Got me good lol. Invaded them again right after too and waited on the bridge until another red popped and we lured them down and got ‘em.

Theres also no loyalty between invaders, got summoned as a blue to help someone, the invader 1 was pretty mediocre tbh, he was fat rolling and constantly did terrible trades against me, then the other invader 2 joined and things turned a lot harder, 1 started spamming Frenzy Burst which hit me once since i didnt saw it, but managed to survive, then he started once again to use it but to his dismay, both me and the host lost line of sign and his lock on aimed toward invader 2 and straight up one shot him by accident.

I was dying of laughter at this since he did the "Dejection" gesture while the host did the "Jump for Joy" one and we finished him off shortly after he finished buffing, we were just that dumbfounded that we actually let him buff lol.

There have been times I have invaded and had a full team riding the elevator up to me and I have timed my double ruptured flask to blow as I landed on them.... yeah its terrible but it is also funny as ♥♥♥♥ to think the others would be thinking wtf just happened.

People who don't invade often don't know what it's like to be an invader. You walk into a world, you don't know who you're fighting or how many of them there are. You don't know if they're nice or not, and wasting time with a bow or a wave could let them cast buffs or shoot you.

People who are like "well, I would have let them duel me if they just let me finish the mob" don't know what it's like to be an invader. How the f* was the invader supposed to know you were going to give them a nice, 1v1 fight? The last 5 hosts they invaded didn't, what signs did they have that you were special?

As an invader, the element of surprise is invaluable. You don't get it though if you pop out and wave. Aerial attacks, stealth, range, corner cucks and cliff shots, you often only get one good shot and it's ruined if the host sees you -- from then, it's 2v1 or 3v1 the rest of the way, unless you manage to run and hide again.

I'll usually be nice unless host and phantom are doing something petty but in truth as far as I'm concerned anything goes just like in a MMORPG.

Just wait until you encounter people using Moghwyn's Sacred Spear through walls/cave rooms and other stuff nuking you lol

There are some neat tricks like being invisible at a certain distance, mimic stuff, knocking people off cliffs as they walk into the area or baiting them and pulling a Patches, etc. if you really want.

Eh, I'm not sure there's an etiquette. Been invaded by some really cool people who treated the process like we're two aristocrats settling a land dispute and I've also had several players try to lure me towards a boss or a dragon (smart, if cheap). Attitudes toward pvp vary.

I've been victim to as well as committed some lucky cheap tactic or whatever. Usually when i end up in those fights it's an overall "ah dumb, that tarnished is dumb af, friggin ugh" mood. In my last like 10-15 PVP encounters it was MOSTLY not dumb. Even when i get dead it's positive.

I agree with folks here saying there are no rules so gank or politely wait, doesn't matter. Call that part of the tension around getting invaded/invading. Will it be a bunch of dumb face cheap shot un-sunbro or will it be a proper match? One thing that really makes fromsofts pvp mechanics something i love even with its numerous flaws is when you match up with good sports and via gestures and crouching rapidly you somehow communicate back and forth and form a short but enjoyable experience.

I don't know why i find such joy from invaders and host/hunters using the mimic item to cosplay as a dead rat and a wooden chair for god knows how long. It's dumb and awesome. ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ around aside though when i am able to pause a really well fought dual with someone if I have any runes or droppable gifts i like doing that. Giving them an applause and then finishing the fight, dead or victorious i got to really push hard to keep pace with someone who is pushing just as hard to win.

The trash that everyone hates are the gank squads camping out for invaders to 3v1 you before you even have a chance to target lock. And then they t bag you as if they really got that win. Those players need Jesus. They need Jesus to send them to hell.

Oh and AFK farmers dont deserve a fire and brimstone fate. AFK farmers should be immortal, so they can watch everyone they know die, And repeat that watching loved ones die experience over and over under eventually humanity wipes themselves out and the earth gets ripped apart. And those AFK farmers will still be there, unable to do anything while they float through the cold empty nightmare of the universe they will watch die as well.
