Has anyone (vaati) posted some explanation/theory on why Lake Luirnia is ankle deep
I am no expert, but yeah i have been to a couple irl lakes and they are DEEP. Not certain but possibly even deep enough to drown in. So whats up lame-urnia, why you so ankle focused.

Plus for such a cowardly lake it has huge fauna that just dont seem to belong in that biome. Biome may be the wrong word for what is essentially an irrigated field.

Get better at lakes Fromsoft, ER is a solid 0/10 until this gets corrected.

It is more like a swamp. Mud down there, hiding giant lobsters. But it doesn't affect us sprinting.

Still weird that its not muddy and slow to traverse then like farron keep in ds3.

it's called "Liurnia of the Lakes," not "Lake Liurnia."

Yeah, it is a swamp. Then it'd better be it. Make us flat roll and flat walk in that area From, no matter what.

It probably used to be deeper in time-past when it was originally named and the water receded to where it is currently at now.

Too big an area focused on combat to justify the annoyed players that this design choice would inevitably create.

Shrine of Amana was too hard, people literally fell down in water and died, can't have that. So swamp is as easy and open as it gets.

The enemies where annoying but the stage itself was done right with making the player use the torch to see better where to walk in the shallow water to get to some side paths.

Thank you for the correction. I bet you don't even know how much you say 'umm actually'. You are technically correct based on the name as it appears in game, however canonically it is called 'That Lake with the Wizard School'.

It was named by Boggart when he started his Prawn 'n Pawn business nearby since wizards love that stuff. Some misunderstand the name and it's meaning due to the subtle references not being immediately apparent. The name came about because Boggart noticed in the middle of the lake there was a school with mage crap going hard. Anyway, like i said, it's canon so... shrug.

Do that and the area will become unbearable

If it made sprinting or horseback slower pretty sure it would be the most skipped area in the game. Maybe in all fromsofts games.

Frog was just as easy as fat lizard in earth pike though. All complaints were about road there.

On the plus side, no bears punching you to hell.

correct. the area is huge and the obligatory slow-swamp was a terrible mechanic that just made the game less fun. much like the "almost invisible death-pit hell" that Shrine of Amana was. just one of the most anti-fun systems in the series.
