I beat Elden Ring RL1
What a journey it was. i started the run 2 months ago, played quite often, and only today, tho i still have some bosses undone, since my initial goal was bosses with remembrances, i can say to myself that i won, i beat the game.

My impressions in general - very possitive! I never was a hardcore person, and stuff like speedruns or no hit runs are still a headache to me, but after i completed my first playthrough i really saw myself doing RL1 run. The game has a huge amount of different stuff, and bleed/freeze mechanic is quite powerful i would say, so first time in souls series i decided to try to beat the game on level 1 (without spirit ashes ofcourse).

Elden Ring is a great game, but it has one big problem, and its that you're getting overleveled without farming if you are experienced enough in the souls series to simply not lose runes after death. On my first run, after Radahn the only boss that i had troubles with was Malenia, others were beaten on my first/second attempt.

RL1 run started like a challenge, but after ~25h it almost felt like i am playing a different game, and it was so much fun. Morgott, which fell even before getting to phase 2 when i fought him at first, became one of my favorites boss fights in the game. The dynamic of this fight is crazy! And he was not the only one, a lot of bosses which i facerolled with my bloodhound sword felt like i am fighting them for the first time.

A little more about bosses:

Godskin Duo - It was the first boss fight i had spent almost a week attempting, and didn't even got to 50% of boss hp. With help of the community, i learned that you can use sleep pots, and arrows so i started using them, and got myself a better gear so i can kill them before they wake up. Overall, it was a stupid boss fight on my first playthrough, it remains the same, don't want to do it ever again, tho now it isn't hard at all.

Malenia, Blade of Miquella - I spent almost a month fighting her. I tried going full damage with red-feathered branchsword talisman, and a lot of different buffs, but i wasn't patient enough when i have this buffs expiring, and i ended up killing her with ritual talismans, slowly but surely. Tho i spent so much time on her, i really liked it, and i backed up my save so i can fight her more, she is the only boss i want to do no hit.

Loretta, Knight of the Haligtree - The dumbest boss fight in this game alongside Godskin Duo. The script is insane.

Mohg, Lord of Blood - It was kinda opposite in this case. I already knew how to beat him from my first playthrough, and i know about that item which you can use to stun him, so.. this time he didn't even got to phase 2.

Maliketh, the Black Blade - Even for RL1 run his HP bar was way too low, i didn't quite experienced his second phase... Might aswell try no bleed/no freeze run on him.

Hoarah Loux, Warrior - First phase was fun to learn, but on second phase i got lost in his moveset, and beat him with pure reflexes.

Radagon and Elden Beast - It was my favorite boss fight, and it still is. At first, i thought that Elden Beast will be pretty hard to deal with, but i ended up dying to Radagon like 100 times, and only 3 times i died to Elden Beast. Maybe i was just lucky on my last attempt, but it really wasn't that hard.

So, overall, for anyone who completed the game and felt overleveled i really suggest you to try to beat it RL1, starting as Wretch is necessary! Also, it doesn't mean that you need to go no hit run from the middle to the end of the game. Even tho you have only 10 vigor you can use stuff like Ritual Shield Talisman, and different consumables to reduce incoming damage, and even bosses like Placidusax won't one-shot you.

Nicely written post. Thanks for sharing and congrats! Did you find yourself using some builds more than others?

For the most part i used dual halberds and jump attack build, but against all of the hard enemies which needed high concentration i used uchigatana, i like its moveset in this game a lot. Used bloodhound step a lot, for obvious reasons :D

Meanwhile, I'm still struggling with Malenia at RL 120 XDD

Haha, same, i want to do another one already. I think i like RL1 even more than classic game now. Maybe i will try to do +0 weapon run next time, will see how it goes.

I'm trying a lvl 15 bow and daggers only run and even that seems pretty much impossible without the use of exploits and glitches. Well done!
