Question about muling runes

Quick question: If I drop like 7 stacks of 99 runes, then someone uses a Tarnished's Furled Finger, and I pull them into my game, can they pick up all the stacks?

I'm trying to figure out the fastest way to mule here. I was previously told that you have to drop 99 at a time after someone joins your game, then they can pick them up and leave the game, then you pull 99 more out of you stash and rinse/repeat. This sound like a lot of unnecessary work.

In previous titles, people could leave trails of rainbow stones that lead to items left on the ground for when people connected to their world. I don't see why it would be different here. Quickest way to test would be just drop a single rune item and then summon someone. If it doesn't work, then you only wasted a small item.

Back up your save and test first. I've never tried this but just in case using the bonfire removes them though that should be visibly obvious to you.
