Why major electronics manufacturers allow controller sticks to click down as you have them turned is something I will never understand.
Also, git gud.
Its just so bizarre how something as simple and innocent as "I want to be able to rebind this action please" will just have the same weirdo's crawl out of the woodwork to tell you you're wrong/bad at the game/are satan.
Like ♥♥♥♥♥ christ guys stop sucking of Miyazaki for a second and have some reason.
Hiyo Bilbler! Awaaaaaaaaaaaay!
Oh come on my bad....i thought we had a good thing and all......also though Mk was mouse and keyboard......why all the explosive anger? And John? A troll? guy is the forum living ambulance. Never saw anyone helping so many people needing some killing.
Either you've come to defend inferior design than necessary.
Or
You're pointlessly trolling cause mad or something.
Which is it?
Wait, nobody cares because either way your comments are literally pointless.
Even the crouch issue rarely ever happens for me. Which is what makes it more confusing when it eventually does. I will be wondering why I'm not moving as fast as I should be only to realize I am crouch-sprinting, when I didn't even hear the joystick click.
It just sucks having this be the reason I die when I was finally about to beat a boss I just spent a few days on. Rebinding it could mean I can rebind it for boss fights so it can't possibly happen and set it back after, if I so choose. No big deal.
But without the ability to set the button I want to replace, and only that button, the simple and easy solution is not available, when it could be and nobody and nothing would be worse off for it.
I would love to rebind crouch to the back/menu button on the xbox controller. What else am I expected to rebind it to? Every other button utilises muscle memory for combat in some way. Swapping crouch for map is the only thing that makes sense to me. But you cannot rebind that specific button. Which would be fine if I were allowed to simply unbind actions as I see fit. This isn't allowed either though for reasons, so it's as if they've gone out of their way to turn this potential non-issue, into one.

...you literally ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ CAN remap it. ♥♥♥♥♥ OP, did you even try this ♥♥♥♥?! Oh wait, given by your last post, turns out you can't change it to ONE specific button. ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ hell. Really dude, git gud.
This doesn't rebind the quick-dismount though which is another part of the issue OP was addressing, smart ass.
I tried, it still is bound to the stick
Edit: I mean Lone Ranger.
For posterity:
I swore I read someone talking about then swapping the bind to the spacebar specifically to have more deliberate control over the dismount, which is the same bind as the crouch button, yet that command (quick dismount) is not rebindable.
Part of OPs frustrations is that commands aren't 100% rebindable, his example is crouching which might have been misled or misinformed, but quick dismounting not being rebindable is part of that discussion whether you like it or not.
Developers with less manpower and resources have turned around quicker hotfixes, that's all I'm saying.
