How effective is a bleed/poison combo

Though I know using poison on Godfrey and against Mohg can be useful for applying pressure, but how effective is it overall? Say I slap it on something like the scav curved swords or in a combination like a blood Uchigatana + seppuku and a poison Wakizashi in the off hand or something?

To add to that, if I have a poison/bleed hybrid weapon, would Lord of Blood's and Kindred of Rot's Exultation talismans stack together with their bonuses if both status effects are procced?
(The talismans increase damage when Poison, Rot, or Bleed are successfully inflicted for anyone that's unaware)


Or should I simply not bother and stick to the Frost/Blood combo?

Poison is used to get max damage. Bleed and poison have damage boosting gear. So poison doesn’t do much damage by itself but can activate damage boosting talisman and mushroom headgear to boost your overall damage by 32%.

I actually completed my first run with a poison infused night rider flail and had a bit of fun with it. For me, the bleed and damage over time was a bit fun for PvE. I never really used it for PvP though. I combined it with the black knife assassin dagger WA to make it a status effect build. scarlet aeonia also added to the equation. The bleed however did most of the damage and I simply waited a bit so I was able to proc bleed damage again. I don't know if any of this got nerfed, this was when I was playing around the game first released and this was before they nerfed bloodhounds step and rivers of blood.

I've not tried using it, but poison may become more useful if you use the Poison Moth Flight ash of war. It does significant bonus damage to poisoned enemies. I've never used it myself, so I don't know how it holds up by endgame. But if you're doing a cosplay or just want to enjoy a poison build, this could significantly help. Especially if seppuku is your ash for the left weapon.

I like poison on my serpent bow for those times when it's nice to cheese or otherwise take an enemy out from distance.

But my main weapon and bleed is much more important to have.
