Extended test with the Crucial tool also showed SSD in good health.
Downloading and reinstalling Elden Ring, which will take some time.
After that, I will go into BIOS to set RAM to 800 if I can, in XMP profile I believe?
Btw, just curious, how did you know the RAM is running overclocked? From what I Googled, I'm guessing the default starting range of any DDR4-RAM is supposed to begin at 800 perhaps?
Anyway, I looked at my BIOS and the RAM frequency was set to "Auto".
I (mistakenly) first set it to only 800, booted into Windows, tried out CPU-Z which showed 399Mhz and realized my mistake.
Restarted into BIOS again, set it to 1600 and booted into Windows. Tried out CPU-Z which now shows 798-799Mhz.
I guess that's how I should try it out from now on? Try to boot up Elden Ring and see how it goes?
799x2=1598 , it's probably more than 799.5
you ignored my previous post.
i also have a Ryzen 3600X with RAM running at 3000 MHz
and with a Radeon Rx 570 with 4G memory this game just REFUSES to work !
you just need an GPU upgrade !
... as soon i bought an Sapphire Radeon Rx 590 Nitro+ with 8G my game start working SMOOTH.
peace !
@cgunforfree: Sorry if you were adressing me instead of OP, but just to clarify, my GPU is a GTX 1060 which is the minimum recommended to still play the game. I ignored you because it looked like you were answering OP and not me in your last post about his GPU being too old.
And yeah, not sure if OP abandoned the thread, but sorry again for hijacking it, I just didn't see the point of starting a new one when both OP got his answer about his GPU and I got answers about my possible RAM frequency culprit.
Will be testing with a longer play session today and see if the new RAM frequency makes Elden Ring not crash anymore.
Thanks again people, for all of your inputs to both OP and me. Cheers.
also a professional hardwarekit PC-3000 flash from ACELab is needed
every thing else did not show you damage at a SSD
a deeper inspection of the crucial tool showed it says health good until the reserve cells are all used but it does not show you actual damage.
Not sure what else to do than run Elden Ring now and see how it goes. Maybe the new RAM frequency fixed it after all. Unless there is something else you would recommend to do with R-Studio or otherwise before I run Elden Ring again.
All my important files are backed up thrice anyway, just in case the SSD taps out.
yes r-studio is some hardcore data recovery stuff and not made for normal users.
i just want to share some of my knowledge about the SSD problems, they are unsave for data like a USB stick is.
this problem has nothing to do with cheating
As for the issues, I just played some hours now without any crashes, mostly in Leyndell and its catacombs. Took a look at Event Viewer after quitting the game normally which still shows the same Kernel issues as before.

I have other commitments today as well, so I will do another play session later.
a look into the errors should also have a process ID where we can check with this what program exactly cause the error.
so far you have not deinstalled your 3rd party antivirus i would check if it makes a difference with this error, the microsoft database contain a problem with various 3rd party antivirus programs and this error.

so far some entries in the task sheduler can also cause this behavior during the game runs because it get a higher internal access priority than sheduler processes
check the task sheduler
