not sure if its underrated but i would recommend playing around with the barbaric roar ash of war it adds a special 3 hit combo to your heavy and after that you can top it off with a 4th special heavy for a ton of damage the moveset is different depending on the weapon class i love it on a halberd

Barricade Shield ash on 100% phys shield

raises poise of shield
reduces stamina cost for a few seconds
makes enemy weapons bounce off (less heal for Malenia)

i dont see many people using it but its basically the absolute counter to waterfowl dance.

Its always worth having a 100%phys shield with barricade ash in swapp slot vs Malenia
Waterfowl can do nothing against it once you learnd the basic

1. swap to shield
2. activate ash
3. hold
4. roll into 2nd flurry
5. do the walk camera trick vs 3rd flurry

it doesnt matter if waterfowl is close range or far range or instant or whatever
it always works
and after 3-4 practice attemps is easy to pull off

Well, not an ash that you could put on another weapon and I´m not sure how popular this weapon is but I´m in love with the Bloodhound Fang.

It´s ash of war Bloodhounds Finesse is so amazing. A quick and hard hit with a backflip move that gets you out of danger and then slip right through the opponents next attack with the followup and smash his face again.

I personally know nobody who uses barricade shield
but i have seen square off used quite a bit.

And yes its powerfull PvE good damage and really good poise damage

Rain of Arrows. I got one-shot by an invader once who used this over a small wall they were hiding behind. I saw a brief flash of purple and was wondering what happened, then I got absolutely deleted when the arrows came down.

There's some videos out there of people using it in invasions, and a lot of players aren't prepared for it when they see it.

Quickstep. Powerstancing thrusting swords with QS is a lot of fun

The great thing about lion's claw is that you can almost always get a fully charged r2 going while the enemy is standing back up, and another follow up attack if they stagger from that. This combo will stance break most enemies, leading to a critical hit. I easily beat Tiche using this 1-2-3-crit combo over and over.

For under-rated, I like wild stikes on a large/colossal weapon - bonus if it has status buildup. Wild Strikes on a Great Stars with frost affinity: damage, bleed, frost, and self-heal on hit. Put it on a colossal weapon and get crazy attack speed.

Square off, that skill is busted in pve for stance/guard breaks on top of doing respectable damage on the heavy attack. people ignore it cause its not as flashy as other skills.

assasins gambit:

- ensures breaking the enemies poise against small and medium sized enemies as youll get the first attack in.
-youll likely not get ambushed while invisible
- you wont need to deal with ranged enemies and can safely lure the melee enemies away and break groups this way
-its cost is very low and its animation is short, so you can just keep using it
-it can be attached to a dagger, so you wont need much additional weight

im not sure wether this is underated but i havent heard anybody asking for a nerf yet.

Dude i was struggling against the draconic tree sentinel in cfa with my faith build, none of my incantations were fast enough to get off without getting hit. I put giant hunt on the freakin short spear and just destroyed him, every hit knocked him out of his attack animation.
