Unlocked Placidusax's fast travel without fighting him?

On second playthrough so I know about the method to get to him already, but haven't used it, but noticed Plac's arena was a fast travel point.
Teleporting to it immediately triggers his boss fight since its in the middle of his arena.
Is it because I killed Maliketh, maybe?

I had the exact thing too. But I haven't killed Maliketh in NG+.

Oh there is a site of grace? I have fought (and lost) him a couple of times but did not notice there was a site of grace. I gave up tryhing to fight him (only thing left in my first play-through excpet maybe some hidden stuff) because it was so tedious getting to him.

Note that the actual site didn't appear until after I beat him, but I could teleport to where it is after you beat him. In other words, I could teleport to where it's going to be.

So you all are saying that if you beat Placidusax (say in NG), the grace that appears after that will actually remain there into NG+?

If that's the case, one can essentially teleport directly to him at the very start of the next game from the First Step grace site then, correct?

It wasn't there for me until I beat Maliketh. I noticed it when I was about to TP out of Farum after helping some players with him.

Ah you reckon because I helped someone who had his grace unlocked, it might've done the same to me?

If only it weren't so late game in a game with only current save it'd be easy to check
