The amount of messages scattered about can be a little much at times. Is there toggle feature to disable messages from other players but stay on-line? Haven't found one yet.

No, but if you want ones that are a bit more helpful, you can input a group password in the multiplayer settings. This will mean anyone using the same password will have their messages highlighted.

VaatiVidya has a password group called SEEKERS, which aims to place helpful messages to guide people towards secrets etc. Worth checking out if you're tired of reading the same unhelpful messages.

Nope, it's either online with messages or offline with none.

im also a seeker, but it doesnt do ♥♥♥♥. my highest rated message is: could this be a liar, placed just before a message saying there is no secret below the cliff.

This is one of many reasons this game is just a Meme, and doesn't deserve it's popularity.

In the off-chance other developers are looking at this for inspiration on how to make their game more popular. DON'T!. This game and most everything about what it contributes to the gaming world is cancer. It's one redeeming value is how it draws in bird brains who hop on bandwagons because they see 100,000 meme reviews and want to desperately be part of something big and throw in their meme review too.

To be honest, I'm sick of hearing about this game outside of this game.

It encouraged me to come look at the state of the forum, and I can't say I'm not surprised by some of the topics proving my point.

I'm the person that didn't buy in in the first place BECAUSE of stuff like messages making up the majority of the games Lore and how obnoxious it is.

I think you misunderstand Lore in this context.

In the end, this game will be known for a few things. And one of those things is the Message Spam all over the place trolling people with Garbage taking away from the Aesthetic of the game with their garbage. The equivalent of looking at Gang Graffiti.

Where your only recourse is to disable other game features that shouldn't be intertwined.

i dont get what you mean with lore in this context, lore is lore and player messages have nothing to do with it

There are multiple levels of lore, for people who aren't stuck in a box.

And not without disabling other features the way I understand it.

Definition: Accumulated knowledge or beliefs held by a group about a subject.

The subject in question is DarkSouls like games. Troll Messages on the ground is part of the lore of Darksouls games.

i dont get what you mean with lore in this context, lore is lore and player messages have nothing to do with it

you can disable them but you will disable multiplayer also, so if you don't plan to play multi on any given day then just go to web settings in the game and turn everything off. You will play like normal, get achivements and all just no multi/invasions, no bloodstains and no messages. I switch between offline and online often, it's refreshing.

When people think back on Dark Souls, or Elden Ring. The Message Spam on the ground, will be brought up in the reminiscing. There is Lore in the Game. And there is the lasting impression it made out here in the real world. That is also Lore.
