Simple as that. it's becoming a problem seeing people in the Level 20-40 range with dual River's of Blood, Vyke's Spears, Godskin Peeler's, and so on. Would force these players to actually get good and go get the items themselves into NG+.

I have a level 24 twink that has access to every sorcery in the game and can cast any up to +60 Intelligence while invading/co-oping, a character that requires effort to make and can't be fueled with drop-traded gear that was unearned. With that said I haven't met another magic-based twink in over 50+ hours through at least 400+ invasions, and it's because most don't have the will or skill to do it, they simple want the easy way out with drop-traded gear.

I don't have a problem with twinks that actually earn their items and paid for it in time/frustration, it's those that beg friends to transfer/duplicate. The amount of twinks would drop by 90% with this change alone. It would also remove the scummy item-selling websites right off the bat.

Anyone who disagrees is only lazy, there is no excuse to circumvent getting the items yourself as I've reached the Elden Beast on a RL1 +0 character, so it's doable at any level without co-op help.

What part of dupers are not even getting reported, or banned that all of you fail to acknowledge? 12 year olds across the globe are doing this with the upmost ease. That alone is confirmed, and proven.

Personally, I'd have no trouble with this. Seems like a lot of people don't realize that there's an infinite amount of NG+ runs they can do to get a second weapon. Does it take some time investment? Yes. But it can be done. Not everything needs to be acquired in one playthrough, and I'm totally fine with not being able to drop trade many of the unique weapons.

Youre just hurting trading to stop twinks, some of those unique items are really rare as well, if you wanna stop twinks, this aint it.

Theres also people that wanna do runs using specific weapons only, like Cosplay runs, etc.

This comes with more downsides that pros.

Here I was thinking that it meant tryhard running into areas you are way too underleveled for and collect all the goodies - possibly glitching into areas locked by game progression.

What you describe is just... duping, no?

Was thinking the same thing last week while discussing why magic couldn't be dropped for folks (though I was more like "weapons are physical and magic is knowledge").

I almost don't see much of a reason to trade anything. Talismans and uniques will lead to powerful twinking like you mention, armor could result in a sorta defensive version where you are fighting someone with end-game defensive gear, and then the generic weapons also have some powerhouses (Zweihander always a meme).

I get trading basic stuff helps for cosplays and stuff, but at the same time, Twinks are basically one of the major flaws in the PvP world (because it pits skill against noobs half the time, and you cannot filter on gear/souls/level fairly).

Maybe if they stick to open world, they can find a way to also add some "location lock" where - if you got to the Capital, you can only invade others that far (would suck for end-game folks, but uh - to bad at this point? Either get twinking or less locks on PvP but not both).

They're rare for a reason, go get them as intended.

If the item you want is near the end of the game, either commit to getting it and going NG+ or deal with obtaining it later in the game.

The upside is entirely balancing online interactions, the downside is you can't cheat your way to the things you want.

I describe anyone who uses friends or alts to duplicate and/or obtain items they didn't get themselves on the character they aim to use them on. I'm over 4,000 hours in DS3 and hitting 500 hours for Elden Ring. I'm well aware of the twinking definition.
