If your PC is decent or not that good. You will get more frames drop than the PS5.
The PS5 performance wise is marginally better but the PC is much smoother with a higher FPS. Graphically, it wouldn't if you play on High settings on PC.
Now...the real kicker. PS5 has a noticeable input lag. You won't notice it at start, but once you get used to playing the game you will definitely notice it. It took me 60 hours at least when I fought the Second Leyndall Capital Boss that the input lag exists. Input lag is hardly noticeable on PC and I use the same PS5 controller on PC.
Not everyone has this but Elden Ring on PC is very inconsistent when it comes to performance. On one hand I play the game very well, except it crashes my entire PC that it resets itself. On the other my friend doesn't get a crashed PC but just a lot of optimization stutters. A person on discord has a flawless experience.
If you want a more consistent experience and to share the game with your friends get the PS5.
If you want mods or easy access to co-op for PC friends and the easy utility of being on a computer for research. Then PC.
My personal recommendation. PS5. The performance is mostly flawless.
try on you main playing one , if it is pc opt for it if you did not like it you can still refund it for less than 2h ingame play
I love the game to my bones but the the optimizations for PC version is really bad. Not on No Man's Sky level crap, but on something like Cyberpunk 2077 when launched.
Has some problems, personally i never encountered anything bothering me too hard, there were some frame drops at the first enemy of the game (tree sentinel), that they mostly fixed and i didnt find anything big since then
You can just try it out (2hours max) and refund it if it runs too badly for you
I could always just purchase it on XBSX but I really want to run it on PC.
- PS5 gets a somewhat reduced framerate (compared to a similar PC), nothing too serious
If you don't mind paying for PS+ then go for the PS5 version to avoid Easy Anti Cheat and stuttering, the game was originally planned and built for the PS5 and then ported to the rest of platforms.
