Blaidd, and Ranni both suck as ppl. Ranni fully intends to sacrifice her following for her goals, the team fully wants to sacrifice Blaidd for his. Neither is smart enough to figure out the other party wants to kill them entirely.

Oh yeah, I can see where you're coming from... Ranni is pretty cool. I'd agree that she could be better... But at the same time, I dunno... Blaidd has better armor and he's super chill. (pun intended)

Perfect elaboration for your personal interest. You won't find judgment from me except when it comes to the criminally stupidly blind adults here.

Anyway on the off note you are also correct. While Blaidd fully has the intention of sacrifice in the back of his mind for goals, 'the entire game confirmed,' his intentions are not as directly evil as Rannis.

Some DND style perspective for example:
Blaidd=Chaotic neutral, or chaotic good in story line.

Ranni= evil good, or chaotic evil. She has the intention of sacrificing all of us for her goals without question confirmed. While her journey could be considered 'greater purpose' in her mind regardless what 'SHE' is doing is specifically more directly immoral even subjectively.
