I was just curious as to why I don't see it at the beginning of the game as much no need to be hostile

kinda slow for the damage it has, and the main issue with big weapons is, the harder enemies cant be guardbreaked, which is one of the main reasons to use big weapons in this game, so it falls off hard in late game, damage difference from other faster weapons will be very small

It's not that great tbh.

because even tho it's a realistic sword it hast stupidly slow attacks like it weight 50 kilos

mind you a real zwaihander weight about 5 kilo in reality...

if it had the quick light combo of the god slayer greatsword i would use it

Oh ok I mean I get why for end game tho I guess it is expensive for beginning of the game compared to alternatives like curved greatsword but to me the stoic frame make up for it some of the harder knights in the game become much easier with the poise frames it offers.

It's good, I still love the weapon and heavy weapons overall.
But the problem with this game, is that heavy weapons are bad for endgame bosses, because they're fast enough to destroy you while avoiding your attack from your heavy weapon.
Heavy weapons are carried with the jump heavy attack so far.

The problem is that the zweihander is a colossal sword. This game does not want you to use colossal swords. At all. They are the 2nd worst weapon class in the game, the 1st being colossal weapons because they're even slower.

I use giant hunt AoW on a zwei on my invasion character. Found out you can actually interrupt mounted enemies and a whole assortment of other large enemies by using giant hunt after a big attack for free damage and combo. But as someone said previously zwei has been a str staple for DS1-3 so a lot of ppl are burned out also idk if they fixed it but zwei was scaling primarily with dex in ER for some reason.

That player isn't even using a colossal weapon, so you've failed to disprove my point. STR builds are great in Elden Ring. The problem is with colossal weapons.

Now that you mention it burn out does make alot of sense especially from ds3 meta being arguably the most stale and bland either you're straight sword or your large sword.

you can guardbreak pretty much everything with colossal weapons
