Equipment and inventory

I'm just starting the game (Eldon Ring) on PC and seem to be having some problems with the equipment/inventory. How do I select items from my inventory such as weapons, armor etc and actually use or activate them? I purchased some armor but have not been able to "put it on". I found a sword that I would like to use but cannot seem to figure out how to put it into my hand (right hand preferably).

Press Esc and click "equipment" on the left side

Equipment menu to place items on your gear slots.

Inventory just shows the items you have but doesn't give equip options.

You change gear from the 'pause' menu then go equipment and if you wanna use a consumable you can either put it on your quick item slots so you can use it while running around or you can use them from inside the inventory tab

what they said. You also might find that some equipment like a sword has a red slash and you can't use it to full potential. Hold E and right click to 2 hand it and it may work.

Thank you for your replies: The controls and menu items on this game seem quite different to most of the RPG's I have played. I still have not determined how to put things in a "quick use" section. For example my sword is in my right hand. When I click on the right arrow key the swords either sheaves or is drawn. I would like to put my telescope in the left arrow but I cannot seem to get that to work for me.

for weapons you get 3 slots on each hand, which you acces by using the d-pad/arrow keys left or right. Spells are always up and the equipped items down. You also have a pouch you can put 6 items into ( 4 of which have keybinds, holding triange (2hand button) and then using the d-pad, the pouch is on the right side when you press start, above the gestures. Another useful tip, holding up or down moves you to the default item/spell, so the one on slot one, very useful to get to your heal without fumbling through 10 items
