War Dead Catacombs
War Dead Catacombs has multiple crucible knights that can teleport. Tips on how to defeat them without using up too much flasks, and reach boss room lever?

run past them, they are there for lore flavor (the ones that are fighting eachother atleast)

^This.

Your going to go up stairs and see an archer across. Dive into hall in left and follow. Keep in mind there are like 1-2 windows you can jump through for loot so you might have to take this path twice. One window is the very end so kind of obvious and the other is earlier on (iirc? unless mistaken). Dead end though so just some loot. The real end is the boss straight ahead near start past the fighting phantoms.

Be warned, boss is one of those rot ulc-wtf ever name was that squirms around a ton. Has rot breath so try to make sure you don't get pinned in any of the corners or you will probably not be able to run from that attack.

I know can run past the ones fighting in first room, but don't you have to fight the 2 in upper left room and 3 others?
you dont need to worry about flasks, after you use the contraption, you can lure one to near the boss room, die there and retrieve the runes without killing anything

Nope. You can totally run but it might be harder if you don't do it right. You can step into the upper room and then pull the soldier away from where the archer can see and kill it. Then wait until the archer inches over. Or you can simply run past them if you can time it well. I don't remember any of them dropping anything special, either.

oh and those are Cleanrot Knight, not crucible knight.

Crucible knghts are miniboss bronze armor with big shield/ spear dudes.

Barricade Shield + Guard Counter

Worked pretty well for me.

But it's a slow, slow walk.
(be sure to bring along some bleed for the valkyrie near the ashes)

you can skip most enemies if you prefer that strat, but then you never get better at it, if you practice on them now you get better for later parts of the game

Terrible advice.

The one thing that I've found that reliably works when fighting those knights is finding something that can do a lot of posture damage/make them recoil. I personally used the Ash of War Glinstone Pebble with its follow up thrust attack. Look in your Ashes of War for some that may stagger them. Once you break their posture the first time, it's pretty much game over. You can wail on them when they're trying to get up and recover with a good heavy attack.

Aight, jump attack seem to stagger them somewhat but by the time I got to spear knight, I have 2 HP flasks left and his spear attacks have longer range and hit harder :/

Edit: They are also immune to sleep arrows ;)

If you're still having trouble, you may have to do what another poster said and try using guard counters. Another option could be use status effects, such as different arrow types to inflict them with scarlet rot, or sleep (if that works, I haven't tested myself).

spears are pretty easy to parry, give it a shot, if he charges a horizontal swipe its the best shot

Ghosts are immune to every existing status effect. If they glow white don't bother. Not even bleed.

Is guard counter same as parry? I thought you can parry with a shield only in ER? I'm using a 2-handed katana - can guard (not good) but haven't been able to parry with sword.

Edit: If you stay in first room too long, the others will come after you. Found a good opportunity to hit first arrow knight. When he aims to fire purple arrow, jump attack will stagger him, and you get to hit him 1 or 2 times after.
