Dragon disappearing during battle glitch (bug?)
Anyone ever have a dragon vanish mid fight? So far it’s been the dragon outside of Ranni tower and the white dragon at the Altus Plateau. They just disappeared when I ran away from their breath attacks and the camera angle changed.

Seems like a weird feature then. If the dragon actually showed up and then physically flew away it would make sense Instead of just vanishing. So ok, I’ll look for it in another location.

Jasonbarron it’s none if your concern if I hated the game at first like many but now I’m enjoying it. Stay out of the comments if I’m one of those thumb downers how about that.
Nah mate, you be you. Just don't expect me to "stay out of it" when it's you putting it out there for public consumption. If you wrote the review early on when you didn't enjoy it, yet you're enjoying it now, you'd go back in and revise it. Personally I think people who keep happily playing after denigrating the game and warning others off are pretty fecal tier

When I put up a post asking a question I expect people who want to contribute to the post to answer it, that’s the point of a post. When losers like you go out of your way to look up my old posts + time spent playing the game which has NOTHING to do with my initial question , folks like you just sound stupid. Also I’m not ashamed to admit that I disliked the game when I first started playing it so there’s no need to delete a old post. I’m happy that decided to stick with this game and enjoy it now like everyone else. I’m entitled to give my opinion you know why? Because I spent my money on this game that’s why. I don’t have to go back and revise jack shhhhh. I come here to ask questions all the time from knowledgeable people who do a good job answering them. If I put up a post in the future asking another question and you want to answer it, then do it constructively instead of bringing up stuff that I’m not asking about. If you can’t do that stfu and go sit down somewhere.

To be fair, there are so many trolls in the community, that sometimes digging in a little is required (I honestly thought you where a troll with this, and answered honestly out of curiosity). Plenty of people here though posting about crap when they don't even own the game, that is in a similar caliber of "what the hell does it matter?" (hell there are two threads for this exact topic right now - so I almost called the other guy a troll for not using this one).

And if I am reading this right, in that you left a negative opinion and now feel different but don't feel obligated to revise your review (and thus leaving it to negatively impact ratings for something you actually like now), then you are actually not entitled to your opinion as it is no longer your opinion, but a point in time where you didn't have all the info and thus it was ill-informed.

This is like saying - Witcher 3 does not deserve good ratings, because it launched similarly but not as badly as Cyberpunk 2077. After months of being out, they FINALLY did something about the performance; yet that shouldn't matter as it sucked on launch and I am entitled to think it still sucks cause of that.

I am entitled to a opinion. That was my old opinion, and the fact that I’m asking questions and have actual play time in the game shows that my views changed. Also it’s my view / opinion of the game which doesn’t impact a damn thing. A whole game isn't going to change just because me ( a nobody) dislikes a game. If I leave my old post up and people think that I still dislike the game..so what. The game will go on and continue to be a success regardless of what me or anyone for that matter thinks.

Maybe it's been mentioned already. But at least in the case of the blue Dragon at Ranni's, it's a feature. If you're paying attention you'll see him fly away after you get him down to 50% or so. And later in Ranni's questline you'll access an area that lets you fight him again, and if you're using an intelligence build you'll want to do it because he drops one of the best sorceries in the game.

Sorry if this is already answered, I didn't' read all of the posts. But it depends on which dragons you are talking about. There are some dragons, such as the one that fights you on the bridge, that, if dragged too far away from his starting location, fades away and teleports back to the bridge. This also de-aggros him. I think it is a way to account for dragons getting stuck and people trying to break his AI by taking him too far away from the starting locations. It's annoying and I think the point that they teleport is a little too close, but I believe it's intentional. As a note, they maintain the damage taken as long as you do not rest.

There are other dragons that actively flee from you once enough damage is taken. It's a teaser for what is to come. This is definitely intentional.

most dragons are essentially tethered to a specific radius, deviating from this boundry will cause their positioning to reset

a couple others will deliberately teleport, usually at half health, to be fought at another location at a later time

I guess this explanation fully elaborates it as a feature rather than a bug? Yeah, other than the ending option, this sorcery is the mainly reason I completed Ranni's quest.

Yeah, everyone is saying its a feature which is a relief because i would hate for something like that to be a bug. When they vanish its because i'm running away from their breath attacks with the camera angle to my characters back and the dragon behind me so I completely miss them flying away. Next time i see them , they are mine.

The dragon you are talking about is a Crystal Dragon tied to Ranni, which you will meet back much later in the game. It will leave the battlefield exactly at 50% hp left.

It does not fly away. It literally disappear.

No dragon just vanishes they visibly fly away, however there is a bug I have encountered in Farum Azula where the ancient dragon with low health just past the dragon temple rooftop site of grace keeps despawning, not flying away, just pops right out of existance.

same happend to me... I thought it's a bug bc sometimes those dragons "reset" their position so I thought that somehow glitched out ._.

NECROMANCY might be legal in cyrodill, but few will openly admit to practicing it now that the Mages Guild has banned it.

Ahhh Now that we have avoided detection and have waited the allotted time, I can tell you all my master plan. I have gathered you all here today at the epoch. The day where we humiliate Radahn, brutalize Malenia, and convince Fromsoft to buff ALL bosses!!! :ac6_surprise:

There are 2 dragon that vanish to come back later in the game:

The one located at the Three sisters tower (Gransax or something) he come back at the top Liurnia lake plateau (far south above Albinauric village)

The one before you go in Mount Gelmir, Lansseax with lightning, he come back at the Crumbling Farum Azula
No, the one in Farum Azula is a different dragon. Lansseax retreats to the hill with the electric sheep (alongside the outer capital wall between the two entrances)
