Malenia, how to dodge?
No bs comments, please. I'm serious. i've seen a naked dude do her without getting hit. I have no idea how. That 100 hit ball attack spam always gets me. I've gotton to here second phase a few times, but I never die because of lack of healing left, but because of spam deaths.

Even some of her weaker attacks caught me in combos. I dodge the first attack while rolling backwards, but her 2nd attack in the combo hits me mid roll.
Do I have to dodge in the last ms?
Also, do poses increase their posture meter every time they got staggered? I sometimes stagger her with 4 jump attacks with my hammer, but after that, she doesn't care at all, even after more hits.

Not sure. sign is down and Benvorok is the summon.
That felt so satisfying after my 8 hour struggle to beat her with my other build.

" i've seen a naked dude do her without getting hit."

*Pause*

But seriously, Bloodhound's step if you have the Ash of War or any weapon available with it does wonders against her

Easier to barricade shield the first volley and roll the rest.
Rolling away from her is a bad idea. Forward or diagonal roll is better.
I'll try that. Her healing up will not be fun, through the blocking.

Bloodhound Step is best for this fight, but I've discovered that dodging behind her as she's doing her combo there is a small window where you can roll and not take damage. You may still get hit, it's not a guarantee of no damage, but timing it just right could save you. I don't think her combo is a full 360 swing

I made a mimic with fast attacks, myself using slow attacks to constandly interfere her own attacks. If things going well she is stunned most of the time and will make that attack 0-1 times (1 time shouldnt be a problem).

You space the first attack, roll backwards on the second, and into her at the third, then keep your distance a bit for the final shockwave. I know "space the first attack" is easier said than done, since it requires you to be away from her, but at the same time you need to be on her since she staggers easily. As others have said bloodhound step can save you when she starts the move point blank.

I like to beat her solo.

Wow, good luck.

Not having a weapon ready for that.
My selection would be: Bloodhound's Fang, Rotten Greathammer, and Rotten Greataxe.
I also have some holy split damage weapons from when I was building a faith warrior, but I scrapped that after late game didn't allow me to cast incantations without getting staggered all the time from the mob spam.

I'm not gonna show Fromsoft it's ok to balance bosses for summons. I'm sure Myazaki is watching me play and he will notice, so he will suffer with me :a3_:

I'd scrap these two, her rot resistances are astronomical (probably for obvious reasons), she's quite weak to bleed and it staggers her, also it can somewhat offset her healing.

Yeah, I've notice. I was curious if she even can have the scarlet rot effect, and weirdly enough, she can, but the chip damage is way too low for most bosses at this point anyway. It helped me with MOhg, though.

From what I've read, bleed is quite effective on her if you can incorporate that somehow into your build.

First time that I fought her, I was a Azur Beam mage lol. Had to change my strats until something worked for me

Greatshield block the first flurry (you don't need barricade), roll through the second and third. Yes healing will suck, but it just means you get to fight this glorious boss more, so really it's a win.

If you don't know the timing for her phantom assault in phase two, I recommend blocking to start. Otherwise everything else is pretty easy to learn. I would try rolling the rest with he exception of her waterfowl dance. Keep the rot bolus on your secondary item quickslots for easy access in case she rots you through the block.

Keep at it. It took me an insane amount of tries to kill her.

Edit: Phase two she can still be staggered, but it's safer to let her exhaust a combo and punish (assuming you know the roll timings).

My favorite moves to punish in phase one is whenever she does a jump attack, especially when she winds up the uppercut into a big drop. I can get a fully charged R2 out of that.
