It would be a lot more tolerable if the friendly AI just auto-respawned, and I didn't have to go try to find the idiots' randomly placed summon spots every time they died.
Sounds like you make worthless comments that add nothing to the conversation ngl.
And yeah, I know about the 'easy mode' of just rot spamming the bastard, but I hate changing my playstyle for just one boss in any Souls game.
Several comments mentioning this, and while true it's a boring and lousy option. It takes a very long time, and it's a very unsatisfying way to 'fight' a boss.
He got UN-nerfed, last I heard. Or at least changed so that he wasn't TOO nerfed. The boss itself is okay, it's the whole crappy AI vs AI setup that I hate.
You know, this isn't a bad idea, might be easier at least knowing the boss is always focusing on me, instead of randomly flailing around.
No, I agree. Like I said earlier this post, the boss itself is fine, it's having to babysit all the stupid idiot AI 'friends' that make it so much more painful. Just having them automatically spawn in awhile after dying, or at the very least making their summoning spots much less annoying to have to track down. I want to fight a boss not have a stupid easter egg hunt.
My vigor was at 24.
Again, they 'un'nerfed him, or at least not as bad as he was before last mini patch. I am sure he was tougher before the first nerf though.
Lol damn, I was literally halfway there, at lvl 45 when I beat him.
I definitely never came close to wiping him out before his 2nd phase, he was always somewhere around half his lifebar when that happened.
Perfect logic.
Yeah, and definitely a fun boss fight... to watch. Much more annoying and obnoxious to play though. Yay babysitting many NPC AIs & hunting down summoning signs over and over.
Yes, I fought and (eventually) beat him at lvl 45 with 24 vigor. What is the suggested level + vigor for this guy anyway?
Thank you. Unless barrage spamming bloodbone arrows at him for hemorrhage procs counts as cheese?
Just fought him again, thinking my low level the first time around was the problem. Nope.
Still didn't like the fight, exactly b/c of the boss's randomness.
In fact the few times it did seem in control, was when they all had died... this may be one of the keys to making it work. When the boss, fighting all the summons, is being a random meat grinder with aprrox. 10% of the grinder in your field of view, it's a bit harder to learn the combo's...
This is definitely another part of why I hate this fight in practice, it's beyond obnoxious how truly random he is about who and where to attack, switching between yourself and AI opponents sometimes even mid-combo.
Along with the nuisance of running around to re-summon them, I think it'll be worth trying this boss fight again in NG+ without their 'help'. I won't be surprised if it's a better fight then.
24+ is close to the point where your health gain starts to accelerate significantly from vigor level ups.
You should do things in weeping peninsula and Liurnia before going to caelid. What is good vigor deepens on where you are, but if you are getting one shot by even the basic attacks then you have too little HP. I think I had 30 vigor + soreseal by that time I was facing Radahn.
WTF? No it's not. It's a completely normal mechanic that you don't have to go at all out of your way to exploit, craft some bleed arrows and get a bow. Strong tactics on their own are not cheese.
