Elden Ring is 100% better than Bloodborne
It’s time to take off our nostalgia goggles and get real.

Elden Ring’s combat is not only more varied thanks to more pronounced build and weapon types, it also has more far depth thanks to ashes of war, mounted combat, and jump attacks. Individual weapons with unique weapon arts are comparable to the handful of trick weapon in Bloodborne.

Elden Ring’s bosses are far more mechanically complex and varied. Bosses like Maliketh, Morgott, Mohg, and Godfrey are better than all base game Bloodborne bosses, and it only gets debatable if you include DLC bosses like Maria, Ludwig, and Kos. Even some minibosses in Elden Ring like Dragonskin Warriors, Elemer of the Briar, Crucible Knights, and Tree Sentinels can be argued to be superior to most bosses in base game Bloodborne (Dragonskin Warriors literally have an extended version of Vicar Amelia’s move-set).

Elden Ring’s lore simultaneously offers more breadth and depth than Bloodborne’s. While the atmosphere of Bloodborne is more unique thanks to its emphasis on Lovecraftian horror, the actual stories and characters hidden in ER’s lore have far more detail/information about them. Did you know that Godrick escaped Leyndell dressed as a woman? And had wars with Radahn and Malenia? That’s the tip of the iceburg, and every demi-god has lore at that level.

In terms of complexity and layout legacy dungeons like Leyndell and Stormveil trounce virtually every area in Bloodborne with maybe the exception of Central Yharnam.

Thus in terms of combat, bosses, lore, and level design, Elden Ring surpasses Bloodborne. And that is to say nothing of world design, exploration, and NPC quests.

Next, we’re going to go over all the ways Elden Ring smashes Dark Souls 3.

Atmosphere and bosses were way better in Bloodborne. It ran like absolute garbage even at 30fps. The only thing Elden Ring has on it is performance and Torrent.

There’s literally only two good bosses (Gascogne, Gehrman) in base game Bloodborne chief. Everything else is okay (Amelia, Logarius) to terrible (Rom, Micolash, Ebrietas).

At least you don’t have to fight the terrible ones 5 times each…

ER is the first FromSoft game that I haven’t taken straight into NG+ because I felt like I was already in NG+7 by the time I finished it.

ha ha NO... but each to their own, Bloodborne and Demon Souls (orginal/Reamke) art style i like better

elden ring is like first person shooters, they ruin items for balance, and wonder why everyone uses only couple weapons types out all the items in the game

it is new that they are considered a boss, and then they are not, and then they are again though, just like ulcerated tree spirit. sometimes it gets a HP bar, other times it dont which is just plain weird. black knights were never a boss
The messages foes drop when you defeat them indicates what type of enemy they are (“Enemy Felled” vs “Great Enemy Felled” vs “Legend Felled”) Crucible Knights are minibosses.

And yes, Black Knights were mini-bosses in the undead burg. It’s literally referenced in the code, minibosses having health bars is a Sekiro/Elden Ring thing. And I’m sure you can think of miniboss in central yharnam (hint, they’re big and wield an axe) that’s literally just a mid game enemy.
poor argument as it still doesnt explain why they are sometimes receiving a hp bar and other times not, its inconsistent. they never put black knights behind a fog wall, while they certainly do for the crucible knight next to another boss we already fought in castle morne. while this game is great, its overly ambitious like every other open world game and i hope they go back to a more linear approach

edit: also i thought Rom was amazing, the whole arena set up of him was very well done, mikolash not so much but we received a clone of him as well in the upside down place, not once, but twice lol

Except you do, because Shadows of Yharnam are everywhere late gameand Amygdala and Rom get spammed in Chalice Dungeon.

Don’t even get me started on how ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ and cancerous post-Bloodmoon areas are.

there's a decent number of times Crucible knights are given Boss HP bars, the Evergaol, Crucible/missbegotten, double Crucible and Siluria all have the full presentation for a bossfight.

You know you're comparing Elden Ring to randomly generated levels now, right? I know some of the dungeons in ER might feel like it but that's harsh.
The game overall is better but the invasion system is arguably the worst imo.

and a decent amount of times they do not.. like in nokron aquaduct, which is considered a lower level area than deeproot depth, where suddenly it gets a hp bar again

are you really going to argue about bad lategame areas when Elden has doesn't even bother coming up with any new enemies for the entire mountaintop region?
honestly - why bother comparing?
I love all these games equally and can't wait for another installment into the franchise! Why? because i get tons of hours of fun with or without other people for a small fair price :)
Which is my favorite? i don't favorize time spenders that well as i enjoyed all of them each on their own level of fun. BUT, there was fun to be had in all of them. It's not a competition, it's your time and how you spend it.

Not enjoying the game? well theres plenty others to be had :D
alright lets look at some objective facts

bloodborne = the best
elden ring = not quite as good

i rest my case

that's fair, it's also the case that Bloodborne was trying to be a different style of game compared to Elden, which is very true to the formula that the Souls series laid out

It's ok that you were bad at Bloodborne. Elden Ring is much easier to play and I am glad that it's here for people that can't beat the harder games.
