How am I supposed to beat melania as mage?

What is the cheesiest way to defeat her as mage?

I do have the azur beam and meteor spells with unlimited fp flask but she wont how still long enough for me to cheese her.

I have lvl10 mimic and i still cant get past phase 2.

I used Moon + Moonblade to debuff. and then Stars of Ruin and Carian Phalanx for damage. The good thing with a mage is you can much more easily dodge Waterfowl, since you can space the attack. Otherwise, you just have to not get hit. Again, being able to space her out makes things a lot easier.

Moonveil is also really nice.

As long as you have a lot of FP flasks and a long-range heavy hitting spell like ranni's moon or rock sling, you can get through phase 1 without taking much if any damage.

Shoot off a spell and run. Repeat until she's almost out of health and summon Tiche or Mimic, then push her into phase 2. Dodge and immediately use crystal tear physick and azure comet her as she doesn't move for a good 4-5 seconds during flower. Run around and let your summon aggro, then finish her off at range.

Mimic only sucks if your build sucks rofl.

as a humble slightly cheese ridden sorcerer.... i used a little bell w/ realiation in phase 1, just kept a strong distance and only closed in enough to let the daggers hit her then ran away like a clucker.... with a long distance you can run away to avoid the first two parts of her Swallow Dance, then dodge roll AT her to avoid the third.

phase 2 i ash summoned Omen Killer [he does a LOT of damage] after dodging her flower attack, used retaliation a time or two to weaken her then on her 2nd flower I popped my infinite FP physick w/ spell power buff and used the pew pew beam ( Comet Azur) on her long as i could, dodged, then did it again when she turned back to the summon.

i do feel a bit bad on using retaliation tho.....

If you need a summon that will tank Malenia for you, Crystalian ash should be your choice. It will tank Malenia like a champ until you get bored or run out of FP. Only risk of it getting seriously damaged is Scarlet Aeonia in phase 2 and it is only the initial hit since summons can not get DOT damage as far as I can tell.

Not saying you're wrong, but based on my strength / endurance build, mimic won the fight for me while Tiche just does not work. My cheese is spam the weapon art of falling star beast jawbone with proper talismans to boost its damage and reduce FP consumption. I felt ashamed and missed out the fun (beating her the traditional way) but on the other side im glad I'm done with this smoking hot ♥♥♥♥♥.

Using Mimic as a caster is vastly less effective as a strongboi build. If you have too many spells equipped it just uses them randomly and usually likes to stay in melee range for some reason.

what I found is the mimic copies your currently equipped gear, so if you have a staff it'll throw magics, if you have a melee weapon w/ shield in your current slots it'll sword and board.

It'll also copy what crafted pots you have slotted too.

Something I'd recommend if you're a mage and use the mimic, and you have enough intelligence for it? One of the Moon spells. You might not use it because of the massive chargeup and cost for... relatively mediocre damage and a debuff, but your mimic doesn't have an FP limit to worry about, and if they decide to chuck one out, your pebbles are gonna hit that much harder - and the mimic was smart enough to not spam it pre-patch, given the performance I've seen post-patch I doubt it'll spam it then either, and will more likely just stand there anyway.

Finley is the one who carried Malenia to this place when she fell unconscious against Radahn . So using Finley vs Malenia will deal a lot of emotional Damage .

Joking aside . Tiche seems the best summon vs Malenia as a mage . She sometimes even dodge the whole water flow dance combo in my experience .

I also did No Damage Malenia with sorcery . Two runs , first run is without spirit summon and comet azur . Second run is using everything I got . If you want to rematch her with sorcery , maybe my run can help you a bit
