Though saying that, maybe not. If someone has to resort to literally going afk in a video game for entertainment, maybe they don't have anything better to do.
AFK farming is probably the most fun they've had in recent times, like them have it. Eventually they will get bored and move on.
A friend and I sit on a pillar and watch invaders run in circles.
You see invading is trying to waste my time......
Funny how wasting an invaders time is a bug .....
it's a feature bro, i leave it running beside me while i work, i smile when i hear the sound of arrows not...quite...making it.....
You are pretty dumb if you buy the game then says the invaders are wasting your time.
I cant count how many games are free from "invasion".
Yet you screw the game for those who like invasion and think they are the bad guys... lolz

It's a feature of the game.....
It's built into the philosophy of dark souls. Invasions are there to make my life harder and waste my time and waste the time of the person im trying to help or who is helping me.
You see 2 people having a bad time and one having fun being a jackass.

I have enhanced the game experience to a larger audience by having 2 people having fun being jackasses , once again souls approved behaviour, and one person not having fun...
I have increased fun 100%.
The best part is i can increase the fun being afk, i'm literally increasing fun all the time!

As opposed to being the neighborhood busy body peeping in everyone's windows to judge how they choose to spend thier time and money?

You really don't take much from people invading tbh, people who do this often enough know the spots they can't reach and leave immediately. The only reason people ever try to stay for gate town afk farm or limgrave cliff is because they find creative ways to kill them. If I see your icon up on the bridge for liurnia I just leave and move on.
I don't think I have to tell you that invasions are entirely optional in this game and not everyone is there to "ruin your progress" what progress do you have at SL100+ at liurnia?Seriously, that would be like AFKing in Anor Londo. This alone should be discouragement but idk man steam forums usually has the stupidest discussions about games Ive seen no matter what game it is.
You really think everyone is specifically trying to screw you over and not just looking for players to pvp with? You know theres serious limitations to finding pvp and the way invasions are set up in this game all invaders know they are going into outnumbered fights, very likely with summons stronger than the invader. They dont even need a friend just the ring that summons blue phantoms, if anything thats probably more balanced if it only worked for solo hosts. But the point Im making is some invaders are just looking for a challenge because they know they are most likely running into a gank
In fact if this is anything like previous fromsoft games, blocking you on steam will prevent me from connecting to you again. Im sure this won't last forever even if fromsoft themselves dont fix it
Take it or leave it, I just wanted to point out how stupid I think the entire thing is
I only think: how bad they are in this game if they are enjoying this.... such frustrated people in real life
