HDR Working with all games supporting it but not Elden Ring
My HDR is workin in All games but Elden Ring (please no general advice regarding HDR)

I have a HDR capable setup: i can enable HDR in game if i enable it in windows before starting the game e.g.:
- cyberpunk (here i can chose between 2 different hdr setting in game)
- horizon zero dawn

If i do not enable HDR in windows these options disappear in both games.
In Elden Ring HDR option keeps greyed out regardless of setting in Window.

So is there a known way to fix this in Elden Ring - probably by tinkering around with setup or ini files? or something else?

Are you on Fullscreen ?

Enable HDR on your Monitor
Start the Game
If the HDR Option is still grey, change your Resolution ingame and change to Fullscreen and not borderless.

Try to avoid alt tabbing

Yes can confirm you need to be in Fullscreen otherwise it greys out. And another confirm for not alt-tabbing, it gets funky trying to alt-tab back in, signal missing etc.

Probably its something with setup mine is: Lenovo T15g2 (rtx3080 qmax) with OLED 4k display.

Try to alt-enter to force switch between windowed, then set to fullscreen again.

Others have reported having issues with two monitors and getting hdr to turn on, if you have this issue try turning off the other screen(or disabling laptop screen).

The HDR settings like brightness and saturation also only come up when loaded in game, though you should be able to toggle HDR in main menu.

I have the same issue with the game. I tried fullscreen and everything. This is the only game in my library with HDR that doesn't allow you to turn it on. I'll bet it only recognizes certain makes and models of monitors and will only allow you to turn it on if you happen to own one of those.

Elden Ring uses the "legacy" or pre-native Windows 10/11 HDR implementation. It's really strange and only works some of the time in my experience and only in true fullscreen. The most consistent I've got it is by switching from full screen to windowed, alt tabbing out and back in, and pressing alt enter a few times.

Edit: What GPU and OS revision and version do you have? It's working on my Samsung G9 Neo, Samsung 56" 2018 QLED and LG OLED 46" 2017 TV that I own using the aforementioned methods, with Windows 11 and both an nVidia 3080 and 2080 Ti.

i did also some additional research: if i connect a LG OLED it allows me to turn HDR on even if the game is running on the build in OLED. So this is a workaround - a really bad one.
The whole HDR implementation seems to be buggy. I also have this problem only with this game.
