To be serious, I think the setting in LOTR is way better.

Every low brow, middling fantasy half-wit writer that sells pulp in the MILLIONS has the whole binary light v dark theme.

This game is unfortunately marketed to that audience. Hence, the somewhat tepid nomenclature.

BUT EVEN WITH ALL THAT, THE LORE IN THE SOULS GAMES, PARTICULARLY DARK SOULS 2, DARK SOULS 3 AND ELDEN RING, IS FANTASTIC.

Elden Ring doesn't even feel like LotR.
And there's no elves. That's a key distinction.
