I read a post where someone complained they couldn't invade or coop. The community quickly pointed out that the weapon was almost maxed while rl was around 40s? maybe 50s? So what is mac level weapon for 40s, 60s, ... ,150s, etc?

I'm level 135 with maybe 20-30 maxed weapons and I can invade and get invaded easily in the north region especially haligtree

that just means not many people have a max weapon while being low level. I guess most people max out their weapons around lvl 80-100.

But if you just want to know what level is best to play online, most people are lvl 150. Anything between 120-150 will be fine.

That's the thing. I have a 130 with a handful of maxed gear. I'm good on the late game, but I miss the early areas. And for whatever reason it seems I don't match well with those in ng+. So I'm working on some more characters with a variety of levels. I don't want to mess those up with an op weapon.

it is possible to run trough the game and get +9 somber without killing anything
but i think its safe to say the majority just plays the game zone for zone, or maybe parts of a few zones.
usually you will find upgrade materials along the way in those zones, so if you upgrade your weapon with what you are supposed to find in these zones and use the majority of the runes you get for levels, then you will be in line with a large part of the player base.
if however you throttle down your leveling and weapon upgrades, i noticed i could choose from a gazillion summons but it took ages for me to get summoned and if i got summoned it was by someone that clearly knew the fight very well

btw, top secret info: open your map and press RB to see areas that are currently the most active online for your level. Blue means co-op, red means pvp.

I haven't had luck with that. I posted elsewhere recently that I waited to get summoned for abbot 30 min before I gave up and that was in an "active area."
