Tutorial
East > North East Limgrave
Caelid (west half unlocked Redmanes Castle) Note: You can do Caelid whenever as long as you do Milliscent/Gowry's quest BEFORE Altus Plains (might work after, but next part is there), it is arguably harder than lake and most wont do it as early as I did, I just kind of ended up over there. I'm doing a RL1 run with +0 weapons so it made no real difference to me, and it actually isn't so bad once you get used to it except Commander Nial.
Dragonbarrow (ended up noticing the red warpgate Hunter D marked on map that I had forgot about. actually extremely short region. Beast-Repellant Torch is from here and amazing, buy from NPC)
Siofra River Well (both bosses, fully completed)
Finish Caelid (including Castle dual boss)
Limgrave (finished the rest that remained, but did not go to Stormveil)
Weeping (fully completed everything)
Stormveil
Liurnia of the Lakes (up until Academy. I got Varre's Moghwyn's teleport thing but did not use it as I heard going certain places before finishing Ranni's questline breaks stuff on forums so I was careful)
Liurnia Academy (skipped the Iron Maiden thing when I saw it, patches warned me it would teleport me and I was concerned it would break quests).
Ainsel River (via well)
North West Liurnia (Caria Manor and part of central north of lakes, found giant door to lift).
Ranni's questline which lead to Redmane Castle Ragadon boss then next few locations due to this questline.
Nokron, Eternal City/Siofra (mixed location)
Carian Study Hall (east Liurnia)
Ainsel River (different from prior Ainsel River, special routes to get there)
Nokstella, Eternal City (yes, different place name just seems similar first glance)
Lake of Rot (no where near as bad as people make it out to be, plenty of ways to deal with even at RL1 esp with HP regen stuff, also very short location with little to do aside form one dumb hidden boss in waterfall...)
The raised region in southwest Liurnia which is reached specifically via Ranni's questline and also ends her questline.
North East Liurnia (madness tower and a bit of other exploration, pot village, etc. not much left).
Altus Plains (I went by the ravine entrance first, despite having medallions just in case it would break something cause I heard lift was a major event trigger point in the game. Also ravine precipice is one of the coolest locations in the game. Then I took lift immediately after since I've done everything else prior possible to it nearly except Mogwhyn's Palace teleport which I had forgotten even existed at this point. After taking lift I was kidnapped, for a second time... by Rya this time)
Volcano Manor and its hidden dungeon (did not kill final boss as I heard I should wait on it since it breaks the rest of the manor quests and one of them is over somewhere else in future I'm not far enough to do yet. Thank you Steam forums for saving me without too many spoilers lol).
Deeproot Depths (stopped at Gargoyle back when I was in the related area prior but came back after getting a bit further and still cancerous duo boss fight at RL1 with no summons/bloodhound. Awful fight. This area after is for Fia's quest and is kind of small but messy layout. Has one of the game's infamous super bears here and it drops a talisman. there is a second but it isn't on steroids it seems compared to the first. Final boss cancer for RL1 in so many ways)
Altus Plains
Mt. Gelmir (cause I skipped it due to being spirited away, kidnapped, or whatever)
Leyndell, Royal Capital (everything I could find up until golden door)
Subterranean Shunning-Grounds (fun place /s, over-hyped but kind of annoying to search every nook and cranny esp pipes)
Leyndell Catacombs
Mohgwyn Palace (digging through inventory I came across the teleporter I forgot existed and off I went. all the invaders and boss are kind of cancer at RL1 and +0 weapons but doable. Bloody spike ball enemies kinda creepy ngl)
Golden Godrick (neat boss, but jank hit detection that needs a bug fix. just know some of his moves have late hit detection not in line with visual and once you learn which ones ez, esp since some also don't even register hits properly allowing you to just ignore them).
So far I don't appear to have broken any questlines though I think I'm missing part for Hyetta's and an ending because I can't get the last grape from Edgar since it would give me a +8 weapon. So that is something to keep in mind that could impact other stuff, perhaps?
tl;dr
What I learned in short was just don't go up the Lift near very north of Liurnia Lakes or into the Ravine also at North. Also don't take Iron Maiden Warp early (may or may not cause issues but I wouldn't risk it). You can do virtually everything else possible without screwing up stuff like quests at the point you are at. You have a lot of freedom so if you're struggling with one route go for another. Also this should show you many of the areas you can go if you haven't found them without overly spoiling.
Yeah... don't follow this. At all.
LOL, you've got him clearing all of Caelid before going thru Stormveil or going to Liurnia, or even finishing Weeping Peninsula. It's got nothing to do with the length of the post.
Your path is ridiculous.
I made bold the part you failed to read. Maybe get your big brother or mom to read it for you.
(Don't take my reply too seriously, your responses were, admittedly, quite dumb and you did it twice in a row so I'm just pointing out read properly next time).
Agreed. Basically, as I put in my tl;dr, you can do virtually any order aside from Altus Plains without concern for breaking stuff.
I read it too. We just didn't think it was a recommendable sequence of events.
lmfao nice man
- This was my route for reference not the route anyone should follow.
- I specifically advised most will likely not do Caelid this early and that they can do it whenever comfortable as it doesn't break anything nor influence as long as potentially done before Altus Plains at some point.
- I gave a summary at end that, in effect, the route I took and based on my experiences show you largely can't screw up the game aside from going to Altus Plains early, and of course no need to mention don't murder random NPCs... Just go the route that works for you and if you're having issues with one direction go another and explore at whim. My list simply shows you can do certain areas thought for later much earlier without consequence.
lol nice. if you didn't already figure it out that castle has another two bosses outside the Festival Event so consider double checking it if you haven't beaten the duo dog mini-boss and the duo main boss. They vanish during the festival but can be done before and after festival events.
Goodness, I had no idea the game had so many locations.
