You could also ask for player help? :)
the mimic depends on host setup. spirits struggle with the giant especially due to his insane size. a ranged spirit is much better than any melee one on this boss believe it or not.
dont summon jarbro. he will nearly double the bosses already insane hp amount. you dont want to prolong the fight. he has too many moves that can just end you quickly.
the range cheese works. but you need scarlet rot and poisen arrows tc. and you need ALOT of them. your arrows wont do dmg. youre too far away for that. but the statues will still trigger. also works for broken bleed status. it will take awhile and keep in mind once the 2nd phase starts youll get forced back into the arena anyway. and if you then fail the jump out you have to start all over with p1.
and crafting rot arrows is PAINFUL once the butterflies are all looted.
I read that jarbro was a beast and he melted the boss when I summoned him, boosted health or not. :) The giant's health pool is obnoxiously large in any case, such a boring fight!
Once I got him to Phase 2 and burnt him down to an inch of his HP bar with Comet Azure, but the frickin bleeder got me at the last moment. Frustrating. Will try the arrows, I used Loretta's Greatbow but if it's all about the status effects, that's obviously not gonna cut it.
Anyway, thanks for all the tips!
P.S.: Player help is out b/c mods (UW)
he actually is one of the only summon cases in the game where it doesn't buff the boss's HP. since you summon him after you pass the fog wall
For the Original Author, I still wouldn't recommend summoning him if you are having that much trouble or don't care about the quest solely because it locks you out of torrent until he dies.
if you want to find alexander after radhan:
you can find him in the lower area of Mt.Gelmir. you can only access this area in 2 ways:
1(can be locked-out): you can have patches kick you off the ledge nearthe guard tower and pumpkin head on the way to the grafted scion at Mt. Gelmir. He will kick you down the ravine where you normally can't access. However if you have been to volcano manor in the past, he will then move there and this part of his quest is skipped.
2(permanent): the inquisitor maiden at the bottom of raya lucaria does a bloodborne abduction if you die specifically to its grab attack, which I'm sure is coded to be spammed by this particular one. you can access this one by going to schoolhouse classroom site of grace, walking back out to the rotary mill, going on a platform on the far side, and waiting for the mill to slide you off once it reaches the end. then obviously let yourself get killed via grab but I recommend taking the cat talisman off the ground first.
going in the direction of the ravine, you can go past Fort Laiedd and find a zone where a magma wyrm pops out of the ground. killing this wyrm would make alexander appear in his arena. talk to him and exhaust his dialogue. this will yield you a jar helmet, and he will then move to Farum Azula. You can get to him by spending stonesword keys. after he moves to Farum Azula, he will then garuntee a drop of the upgraded Alexander's Shard Talisman when killed or if you conclude his quest.
Fair choice. I've used summons / ashes in other fights. Sometimes the boss just wipes the floor with them. At other times, the tables turn and the ashes almost solo the same boss. There's an element of RNG in there, for sure. So, I wouldn't rule something out just because someone said they made ONE attempt and failed. Look at the big picture.
