ELDEN RING
How do you beat revenants?
I recently entered Liurnia of the lakes and came across an enemy that seems to be impossible to beat. The Revenant keeps using endless flurries of attacks that can't be dodged or blocked. I tried to fight it on horseback, but it hits me anyway, stunlocking me from the first hit. What am I supposed to do?

NOTE: I don't use magic of any kind. Please try to come up with tactics that don't use it at all.

dodge behind and smack it really hard, but as melee u gonna have a hard time on these fkers
can also try some crafting items like holy pots or grease
you can also buy the lowest healing spell and memorize it, equip some item with +faith to get the 10 faith needed just to use the heal for these mobs

Use a bow with holy arrows (very weak to holy). Or use BHS and glintblade phalanx ash on another weapon (does massive poise damage). Or come back later after leveling and upgrading gear. Or unironically git gud by practicing and learning their moveset.

Edit: Also, I think they can be parried to stop the melee spam attack. I saw a video on reddit of someone beating the one in the starting area as a lvl 1 wretch, so you could check that as well to see how they avoided/prevented the melee spam attack.

If you can't learn its moves yet or survive at your current lvl, you could try leading it towards the rotunda (Laskyar ruins?) which it can't enter. Try sniping at it after each flurry of its attacks. That allows a little breathing space between hits and time to heal.

only time I feel confident vs them is with my high str/high endurance character who can carry a greatshield. She can fully block even their frenzied attack and poke them to death. As my mage, I try to jump to a safe spot where they can't reach to shoot at them or just run past and hope they lose interest in me.

Hoarfrost Stomp works nicely on them and interrupts their attacks.

I tried using holy pots on the revenant, but they do less damage than my sword and leave me open to a counterattack for longer. I would need dozens of pots to finish the fight, even if I could survive throwing more than one. Crafting holy arrows requires me to get the appropriate cookbook from the Capital area, which I have not yet seen.

As for parrying, I'm finding it incredibly hard to get the timing right, even with a small shield against much more predictable opponents.

This might actually be useful. I've looked up where to find it and will let you know if it helps.
I can't, I just run around like a headless chicken, frantically dodging and spamming stuff until one of us dies, if there's the possibility of running away I almost always take it.

Just another example of poorly designed enemy/boss in Elden ring... There is so many of them, it's just baffling. Spammy attacks and huge amounts of one-shot moves, huge AoE, huge enemies that make camera your worst enemy, it has it all....
Well, I managed to beat it. It turns out I was just getting my timing wrong when dodging. Keeping to the revenant's side seems to work, just behind its arms. Problem is, one mistake means certain death, since if you take one hit, the creature can just stunlock you until you die and there's nothing you can do about it.

Probably the most frustrating enemy design I've encountered so far. I was able to use pickled turtle necks to give me enough stamina recovery to fight it, though.
