can also try some crafting items like holy pots or grease
you can also buy the lowest healing spell and memorize it, equip some item with +faith to get the 10 faith needed just to use the heal for these mobs
Edit: Also, I think they can be parried to stop the melee spam attack. I saw a video on reddit of someone beating the one in the starting area as a lvl 1 wretch, so you could check that as well to see how they avoided/prevented the melee spam attack.
I tried using holy pots on the revenant, but they do less damage than my sword and leave me open to a counterattack for longer. I would need dozens of pots to finish the fight, even if I could survive throwing more than one. Crafting holy arrows requires me to get the appropriate cookbook from the Capital area, which I have not yet seen.
As for parrying, I'm finding it incredibly hard to get the timing right, even with a small shield against much more predictable opponents.
This might actually be useful. I've looked up where to find it and will let you know if it helps.
Probably the most frustrating enemy design I've encountered so far. I was able to use pickled turtle necks to give me enough stamina recovery to fight it, though.
