Caelid befor Liurnia?
From Items like a Lift Key, up to progress of NPC Questlines, it seems that Caelid comes after Limgrave, yet the enemies speak otherwise.
So, how to progress, without missing/locking NPC questlines?!

You should not go to Liurna before doing Rodericka quest because you might miss a flask upgrade doing so. That takes killing Margit (or is it Morgot) and some of Stormhill Castle.

Caelid and Dragonbarrow have a lot of good equipment and upgrade to loot, plus one of the best NPC questline (Millicent) ; and you can freely go there without locking any quest (as far as i know).

I tend do do Limgrave + Sofria-> Caelid without DragonBarrow (to loot some stuff, like the "GreatSword" and some upgrade mats) -> Morgot (or is it Margit) -> Liurna then Godrick and then Ranni's + Fia's questlines.

You don't miss it, it will be at the shack either way. If she goes to the hold first, just head back to the shack and the golden seed will be there.

You do, however, miss out on a summon.

Yeah, and and I can't attest to if this is a glitch or not or it's required, but if you don't deliver the letter from the castle to her - the headgear on the corpse pile doesn't show up when you return.

It didn't show up for me on recent play even when I did give her the letter. So I think that just glitches out.

You can totally do all of Caelid and Dragonbarrow before Lake without breaking stuff or you can go to Lake. I did Caelid before anywhere, even before Limgrave/Weeping, and did not appear to break any quests.

I did Ranni's/Blaidd's, Neph/Kenneth, Rogier's, Sellen's, D's, Diamos, Alexander, Edgar/Irina, Cordhyn, Gorwyn/Miliscient, etc. P.S. forgive me for any butchered names lol). The only one I haven't done is Hyetta's and related ending as it requires getting a +8 weapon from Edgar I don't intend to do. In my experience Lake and Caelid are entirely unrelated. The only NPC quest stuff in Caelid is Gorywn and Miliscient whom is only available as a random summon for Magma Wyrm as you exit Lake into the next region Altus Plains and she wasn't required for that either (I did not summon her and have continued her quest).

The region isn't hard, either, once you get used to it but the initial experience might be a bit offsetting until you've gotten used to the type of mobs. The hardest one is probably the dual boss fight in one of the early ruins with the guy who spins and spins and spins, and no he is not wearing a sunfire cape. Tiny boss room and the boss even glitches and can spin forever (rarely luckily, but also spins long regardless) in some cases so I'd just come back to that one later if you struggle with it. The Dragonbarrow region is harder but not much. The initial dragons are tanky and strong but have virtually no reward for fighting. You can just smash the giant white dragon and move on. Everything else in the region is manageable and the region is actually very tiny with little to do aside from Bearzilla in one of the dungeons.

It has some good stuff but nothing critical (aside from BHS crutch if you need it) if you want to come back to these two later after exploring the lakes some. The weapon upgrade resources might give you a nice boost early, though.

The only truly ultra standout thing is the Beast-Repellant Torch which makes most animal enemies passive which is nice and convenient, though not a huge game changer (unless you struggle with dogs I guess). You can grab it without fighting though as it is just from a shop NPC. Ragadon's Soreseal talisman is one of the best early on, but you can get its minor version in Weeping Peninsula as well and call it a day if you want. Both are easy to grab early.
