Do you use the Lantern?

I thought it was cool seeing that this existed, very lame how I have to reactivate it each time I die, get summoned or rest at a bonfire I mean site of grace

yeah I use it all the time. My little mage doesn't have the endurance to lug around a torch.

Assign the lantern to a shortcut. I have mine assigned to Triangle (Y on xbox) + Left.

You can configure shortcuts through the menu when you press start/escape, then change the items in the top right side of the menu.

Right is Lantern, Down is Torrent, Left is Mixed Physick, Up is... up is... I have nearly beaten the game with up as Memory Grace. I, too, am a heathen! (Actually time to fix that now that I think about it).

Yes, I use the Lantern very regularly if I will either be wanting additional light if area is extra dark or will be swapping from torch potentially. Most of the time I carry the Beast-Repellant Torch in my left hand for extra light and conveniently makes most animals passive. I'll use the lantern if extra dark because the light actually stacks with the torch making it brighter this way I don't have to hold torch up high.

None of you use buff mats on the D-Pad, what is happening? Do you have them in the quick menu? Do you not use them at all?

Telescopes and summons, but no slot for greases and/or boluses? Just woke up and can't understand the world anymore...

It's not that I don't like buffing, but then I have to craft new ones and I just don't bother with consumables that I have to farm for. Never checked how hard materials for this or that grease are to acquire. I'm just too lazy for buffing and everything can be done without it.

Now telescope let's you... scope out the situation! Do many times I've planned my route ahead with it. Or just stared at NPCs and mobs (when in invadet form) for a close look.

Got it the wrong way around, mate. The only people not using buffs are people that cannot because they use a named weapon. And you know which ones these are: Bloodhound's, RoB, Moonveil, Mogh's Spear etc etc....
