In fact, apart from the instability, the game is less GPU demanding than I expected given its scale and age.
Yup, he's stuck on HD since it's a 1080p 144hz screen. Unfortunately, there is no gsync on his laptop so it's probably best to bust the display rate down to 60fps so it matches.
I'm running a 165hz monitor at 2k with gsync on a 10900k and an rtx3090.
It's a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ dream and I want this guy to experience it, but I can't afford to buy him an entirely new laptop just for this experience, lol.
Dark Souls 3 and Sekiro run at at 60fps on that thing, solid.
900 series and below though... ya, horrid.
