Input delay is just horrible.
And now i recognized it finally after beating the game and starting over with a new character.
I tried the crucible knight (of course a bit underleveled) in the evergaol and the dodge button sometimes simply doesn´t respond at all.

Yes i had a hard time beating the game once but now i really see how much crap this game is controlwise.

Is that a typical souls game formula?
Are the Darkirobourne games all the same regarding controls?

Stop acting like input delay is a core part of the game and/or its design. Clearly there's an external factor that's causing it. Being upset about it is fair enough, as is asking for support, but did you really assume input lag was a part of the game's concept, or is this a troll thread?

In AMD Adrenaline, there's an option to toggle that reduces input lag.

im just asking because i was thinking about getting one of the souls game.
but since dying 20 times because of my character not dodging at all leaves a sour taste.

im starting to think its just a computer issue or bug for some people because i really didnt notice any input delay myself, and the way my computer is set up you'd expect me to have the biggest issue with it. (5m hdmi cable to tv, and 5m usb extender from pc to controller)

Really to just comes down to what you're use to. Play a lot of games like dmc where precision is required and you notice it immediately.

OP, sometimes the game does eat inputs but dodge is on release and not press. I hated it at first too until i realized you can use it to option select.

not dodging at all doesnt sound like input delay, it sounds like your control device (whichever that may be since people with this issue never mention what they're using) straight up not working. do note that if you use a controller like xbox or psn it is recommended to not use steam's controller support at all, so unceck all options. if you have multiple devices connected i would also disconnect them or use hidhide to temporary disable them

They somehow made it worse than it was in DS3 where it was pretty good. You'd think that remaking large parts of the game would prevent them from taking steps backwards but it didn't.

that reminds me if you're unable to maintain the target framerate (60) it may also introduce input delay. since ER is a lot more demanding on the pc, especially in areas with lots of foliage i can see more people having this issue

Yeah this is one of my main criticisms of the game. Input delay is bothering me more so than previous titles. It just feel like this game runs "heavier."

This is a delay on top of whatever you might have from a performance hit.

There is no inherent input delay in this game, so check your setup.

There is some annoying input queuing at times, though. But it can be avoided by not smashing buttons recklessly.

There is. I press dodge, it comes out about a sec later.

i know.
it allmost feels like playing an old mmorpg casting spells over and over again.

but thats a thing im fine with.

Dodge happens when you release the dodge button in this game. So press it and let go as fast as you can. If you hold it too long you won't dodge because the same button is used for sprinting(stupid design imo and should be able to be changed, especially on KB+M).

i know how the crucible knight works and i know how to avoid the stomp.
there are literally times where it simply doesn´t respond allthough i dodge it the same way everytime.

of course jump would be more beneficial but out of reflex i push dodge :P
