When you got lost. Pop a mimic grace then it will show you where you need to go, follow the golden ray just like a real grace. It can't be used to rest like a real grace though

Using it correctly is placing one, dropping a healing stone and then you and your bros use a sitting emote and rest at the man-made bonfire during your jolly cooperation

I popped it once when I was lost trying to find Volcano Manor, and it directed me in the exact direction I needed to go. Of course, as the item description suggests, that could've simply been luck. The brilliance of that item is that the world of Elden Ring is so packed with useful stuff that, no matter which direction it points towards, it's going to take you somewhere relevant.
