How's Bastard's Star compare with Wing of Astel?

I just defeated the Astel boss this afternoon and collected the Remembrance.

I've actually been using the Wing of Astel as my main weapon (powerstancing it with a Scavenger's Curved Sword) for a little while now and have it bumped up to +8.

This new mace apparently has the same ability as the Wing of Astel (which is neat, though feels a bit cheap/overpowered against CERTAIN enemies... Obviously of little use against the little, quick enemies!)

It's unfortunate that Bastard's Star does not have built-in Bleed like most flails. But it does deal Striking damage, which seems like a positive?

I still carry a Misericorde as my secondary right-hand weapon for backstabbing and ripostes... Though I think Flails can do that as well (just not as well, surely?)

I have heard that its not as good. Not really sure. My mage has been using wing for a while as well, and i was looking at bastards star wondering the same.
