Maybe it was to stop the double stacking exploit it had to make a Hammer Bro hit for 5k damage? That and the 8K Suicide Bomb Flask

if you got it from a friend, thats why, game uses flags to check if u are allowed to duplicate ashes

you can only duplicate ashes you actually got yourself, i.e if u got an ash from the right beetle you can, if u only ever go it from having it dropped by someone in multiplayer you cant
