Character Creation..... It hurts my soul.

Preface:
I am not here to say the game is bad or the CC is bad or that Devs should be ashamed of themselves. Whatever makes people happy and puts money in the pockets of creators is all that matters.

The Beginning:
Words cannot describe how excited I was for Elden ring. Then Demons Souls came out and they had finally updated character creation! (The most important thing in a video game to me) and it was not only functional but ♥♥♥♥♥ AMAZING!

The Backstory:
I, With EXTREME RELUCTANCE, bought the dark souls games as soon as they went on sale (LOVED the first game) (Some how overcame the ♥♥♥♥♥ ♥♥♥♥ STAIN CC) And more over had seen and heard that the CC( In 2 and 3) was basically pointless and that no armors had been custom made for female characters, Thus id be stuck with 1 to 3 outfit choices through out the games.
It is a testament to how much i ♥♥♥♥♥ adorned those games despite my every gaming second being violently defiled by the complete lack of a good female character to be playing as.

The Drama:
Elden Ring came out! ... But QQ I, Of course, Could not play it as i was stuck with a 1060 (Graphic card shortage) and even then I Live off of 9k a year lol So spending 400 dollars (on anything) is like hanging a noose around me neck. So i waited and saved... but in the end could not wait anylonger! Demons souls and shown that it was no longer going to have the one MASSIVE issue that PLAGUED the Dark souls games.
Thus I dusted off my mountains of debt n tears and bought a 700 dollar 3060 Ti and bought EldenRing!!

Conclusion:
When I finally got in game and saw the CharacterCreation on offer.......... I (legit) Almost Vomited.
I now regret everything.

These are just the thoughts and experiences of 1 random Souls game Lover.
Take from it what'chu will.

What youre saying is 'Go play a totally different game that has so little to do with the genre youre playing here that you may as well be comparing apples to asphalt.'

Play Code Vein. its got a god tier CC that, i personally think, is better than anything black desert offers. And yes i tried it. Its literally night and day. Code Vein is literally the definition of fashion souls.
Its just too damn bad the helper ai is trash and will be the cause of 90% of your deaths, and yet is somehow also required to actually play the game in any meaningful capacity. ESPECIALLY if you go for a range build.

It's even worst when most Custom ideas today still use Clothing Designs & Artwork from early 2000's...

It's like you make Games look visually stunning in 4K / 8K, but then you see the Chars Clothing still looks like a blurred pixelated discolored disappointment every time, oO

At least in Jump Force there was an option to have a peach skin with a highlighted tint of red creating a more natural skin color for white chars... Which 99% of Games never get right by the way, But even that Game didn't work well for everyone's skin color...

I technically, always argued the idea that our chars need to look appealing to our tastes based on a more natural look for the average being...

But people tell me & argue? That it's too sexual for us to do that in Games...

I always say, ya, but cmon, its a video Game, it's not some kind of complicated getup your being introduced into in real life, not some crazy math equation...

It's a video Game, nothing more, & people having issues with tiny details that have little to do with the game it's self? Has gotta have serious issues in life, oO

Yet, every argument ends up with some kind of deranged response everytime, oO

& thats just 1 reason why I enjoy my own Game Design today, more then playing someone elses... Freedom to design my way without having someone hold me back with complaints, oO

Character creator is fine, it just takes some work to get good results like others have posted here. There are plenty of YT videos/tutorials or the subreddit someone else mentioned where you can copy the sliders.

DS2 at least have at least Desert sorcerer Set that looks different between Male and Female.
Sure there might be more in DS2 or other souls game but its only one that comes in mind.
Pretty sure it even made female chars breasts bigger.

I mean you can make a passable face but damn. I remember spending *hours* on that and never feeling satisfied.
Elden Ring i think was their first game that i was atleast happy with the outcome. It was hell getting there. They have literally no organization skills at all with those menus. But I still got there.

Plenty of sliders/good looking characters to be found online. If the fact that your face bothers you so much in a game where 90% of the best armors actually hide your face/head... I think you have your priorities wrong. This is not a dating sim, it's a dark fantasy RPG. Hope you manage to overcome this issue and still enjoy the game.

oh i know, after 3 hours with the og demon souls creator you start seeing things
but still "from potato to waifu" is quite a stretch

You stop caring about gender when you see someone come clad in Elite knight armor. :V
