Swarm of flies is useless after nerf?
I switched from wizard to priest to try new magic then went to get the swarm. It feels useless now to me as the bloodloss buildup with it is very low, it hardly kills low tier enemies

I think its meant to be use for pressure while you run towards them.

But it does look kinda weak

sadly yes

No it is not useless, it still gets 90% bleed in pvp. Use it to bleed bosses.

its a tracking, slow moving projectile that can affect where your enemy can go for like 10 seconds. far from useless

It's not meant to kill enemies, but to add bleed build up. You use it alongside your other tools to proc bleed faster. :praisesun:

Yet I had to shoot several just to kill some viking mob in Siofra River

The buildup is pretty low, I strike much harder with moonveil and I am not melee

Swarm of Flies is still strong. I don't know what you're talking about. Things still bleed very quickly. It's not really supposed to be used on regular enemies anyways unless you're utilizing the stagger to combo into other attacks.

right over your head. There are other reasons to use a spell besides raw damage.

It's much weaker than it used to be.

Well, I think it works best on a bleed build, alongside other tools that are designed to bleed. The moonveil has bleed buildup, but I can imagine you're not running a bleed optimized build, if you're using moonveil.

Well ye, I thought the spell would be great on its own. I guess I need blood river katana and dragon communion with focused arcane, this is what I found on internet

It used to be great on its own, but that was because it was pretty busted. :p So yeah the nerf didn't make it useless, but rather serve its actual function.

Compared to what it was, it's definitely useless now.
