you can argue up and down about whether you agree with that vision or not, but it is his own adherence to his own vision that makes his a respectable designer worth paying attention to.
See, we have one right here.. He knows he will have 0 people to play with in his little ♥♥♥♥ PVPtard classroom..
This is why he gets so upset lol
I dont think so.. I think he does until people cry enough.. Then the rebalancing begins.. and that pendulum never recalibrates back to center.
There are amazing concept artists that became amazing because their goals were to work on games like ones produced by Miyazaki.
I think that level of influence, that sets a precedent of comparison that holds up more than a decade later; is really enough to answer your own question here.
Doesn't mean every game is perfect, it does not mean there are not issues even with Elden ring- but clearly they have done something right or they wouldn't stand on top a mountain of successes that keep repeating. Can't call it luck if they keep on doing it.
Did...you seriously not get the reference? smh what a TOOL
This is the very core of every Fromsoft fanboy's response to any criticism that has ever been leveled at soulsborne games. I've rarely seen a community full of hubris as much as Fromsoftware's.
Can you explain to me how you somehow managed to miss the years of arrogance, and insults slung by the community at anyone who so much as mentions a difficulty adjustment? Maybe if the community hadn't devolved into a pretentious, elitist clique, people wouldn't find the fanbase so repulsive. This is what happens when people put too much of their ego into the games they play and gatekeep the Hell out of it.
You want to see insults? Find any thread asking for a difficulty slider and watch the rage and indignation as the community imagines a world where they can no longer lord their empty achievement over someone else's head and the idea that lesser gamers get to enjoy the game they do.
Don't talk to me about insults, when your fellows have been toxic for years. More people are simply wising up to the reality that these games are obtuse and awkward on purpose and your ability to stomach it isn't a grand accomplishment.

i dont think it is right..
I think both sides of the coin are being quite toxic to be honest. I respect Miyazaki and enjoy his games because they cater to a niche that captivates me. I can pick faults quite easily if I want to but the good outweighs the bad. Likewise if you tell me that my reasons for liking him are the same reasons you dislike him then I can't argue with that. We all have our preferences and whilst we can debate aspects of these games from an objective perspective, ultimately it's feelings that win over. There's people out there that swear by Dark Souls 2. Objectively I can honestly say it's a terrible Souls game and list a college essay full of reasons. But that would not... And should not... Be a reason to convince someone that loves the game that they should hate it instead. Overall Elden Ring gave me exactly what I wanted. It did some things better than I expected. And it messed up some of the fundamental principles. But as far as Miyazaki goes, he has a vision and tends to stick to it... For better or worse. I'll take a visionary that bucks modern trends to cater to a niche than yet another tired mega corp chasing algorithms and surveys in the name of live service nonsense. I think this argument had gone too far, you like what you like... Or don't... and you don't need spend all day defending it.
Miyazaki games have lot of issues, but ppl love them, because they are awesome
Heck, I remember I loved the game of thrones rpg despite it being terrible simply because I loved the story.
You probably didn't read the thread at all. This is the whole point of the argument. For a guy that people claim to be a "visionary", there is barely any vision to be found in his latest work. And that's the issue. The man found by accident a good game design that worked and since then they didn't dare to touch it for various reasons.
Maybe the problem with Fromsoft and Miyazaki is a fanbase that is too up its own arse to let any kind of innovation happen. Maybe Miyazaki is trying to have a good time but fans have put a belt around his neck, tightly squeezing it ever so softly that it's getting harder and harder for him to breathe...
As I mentioned before, your definition of the word "innovation" doesn't match reality. Elden Ring added a number of new features to the game when compared to past FS titles, and apparently that isn't innovative enough for you.
What exactly is it that you think they have to add before you acknowledge this?
